Beautiful board, lots of features.
How did this board not recognize M.2 with the default bios?? Come on Gigabyte...still love you.
Falsh the Bios immediately. Ill save you some time, if you try to flash lusing a USB 3.0 stick it will give you a drive not found error. You have to use a USB 2.0 stick. Also dont forget to put the USB 2.0 stick in the specific usb port in the back of the I/O panel. Only add the bios file to your EXFAT or FAT 32 formatted USB 2.0 stick.
Gigabyte, spread the info. I spent over 6 hours trying to figure this all out.
- lots of m.2 slots
- can do over clocking
- lots of fan headers
- tons of usb ports
- good passive cooling structures

i5-12600k
32GBs of DDR 4 Corsair Dominator 3000Mhz - will be XMP'd to 3200 and maybe bumped to 3400
i'm coming from an i5 8600k on a micro atx modo z370 from Asrock.
still have a 1080TI from MSI that's kicking - so I'll be maxing out this graphics cards capabilities . aka bottlenecked by it. - it's hard to get a GPU my dudes.
- UPDATE YOUR BIOS FROM F2 to F4 unless you want to spend an unreasonable amount of time trying to figure out why Windows 10 or 11 installer does not see your m.2 drives.
- Display Port on Graphics card in pci-e 16x slot - SELECT VERSION manually in your monitor on screen display. 1080ti - LG G-sync monitor - never had this issue before
- CAN NOT i repeat CAN NOT use XMP Profile 1 - it will cause a corruption in memory and you will not be able to boot into windows - Corsair Dominator 32GBs
- do not make any changes to CPU overclocking - it will freeze and lock your computer
- I can not believe this but in order to restore the bios i had to PULL CMOS battery and discharge computer from power.
- 100% will NOT be buying from Gigabyte after this experience. Asrock or ASUS is the only way.
- i can not think of a time in my pc building career, since 2003, where i've had this much trouble with a build.
- didn't realize the use case for this mobo - but i feel confident based on it's specs and features that it'll do just as well as any "gaming" mobo. - bought because ddr4 and price point.
Maybe this board will get better over time with BIOS updates, but for now, steer clear of gigabyte.
I don't think it's a defective board i think the BIOS is actually the problem
