Very solid construction. It's not a flashy board, which is fine by me. I like the large number of USB ports. I wanted a Gigabyte because I'm familiar with their BIOS arrangement. The Bios is much enhanced over my last one. CPU runs cool out of the box. I like the NVME EZ mounting clips, they're easier than screws.
The only operational oddity is during bootup. It displays a black screen for a short time before showing the Aourus logo. I think it's training the RAM. Hopefully this will be fixed in future bios upgrades.
AMD's new AM5 cpu mounting system caused some difficulty because it incorporates the backing plate into the CPU mounting bracket. You pretty much have to use the AMD backing plate. I have a Thermalright AM4 air cooler that wants you to use its bracket. I ended up with a hybrid mounting system with the Thermalright front plate holding the cooler onto the AMD cpu bracket and backing plate. The Thermalright plate holes line up, but the screws are a different diameter and too short, and the spacers were too long. I was able to drill out the Thermalright plate holes, buy longer screws (6-32 UNC) and fabricate some shorter spacers. I don't think this is feasible for most people.
This is not a Gigabyte problem, and should be addressed by the manufacturer of your cooler.
I bought this for my 7700x upgrade. Installation was easy with the exception of adapting my Thermalright Power 140 air cooler to the new AM5 bracket system. I upgraded the bios with no problem. XMP enabled with one click. I like the BIOS feature that lets you store your configuration in the bios, and it survives flashing.
It shipped without a driver CD or manual, so you will need to download those. In Windows, the OS prompts you to install drivers direct from Gigabyte. I did, and everything seem to run ok. I mainly run Kubuntu Linux, and it automatically updated everything in the background.
There's a great youtube analysis on this board by Buildzoid. He shows how it's way overbuilt, and can easily handle even x7950 OCs. To prove it, he ran an x7950 without the chipset heatsinks, and the board stayed cool. Pretty neat.
Many reviews say the 7000 series cpus run very hot, but that's not the case for mine. Most of the time it sits at 40c. Thermals are not much hotter than my old 5600x. Just make sure your existing cooler will fit.

after about 5 weeks it began to refuse to boot or show any post codes. checked the rest of the system and found no problems
