Great cooler, easy install on AM3 system. Runs quiet and LEDs are unobtrusive. I can OC my Phenom x4 840 from 3.2 to 3.6 without breaking a sweat and could probably do more, but I don't want to voltmod too much.
Blows upwards on AMD systems, though tbh this is not really a bad thing- heat rises after all and I have an exhaust fan on the roof of the case so it all works out.
Big- Blocks the first RAM slot- luckily I was using smaller RAM so it's not a big deal, though I won't be able to remove it without removing the heatsink first.
Had to call Xigmatek to sort out rebate. Bro tip: They want a printout of your official INVOICE, not the printed packing slip that comes with your order from Newegg. I eventually got it, though its always nice to not have to argue for it.
Keeps my new intel i7 Sandy bridge at about 65-75F when pushed. Fan is average in sound and gets the job done. Nice heat pipe configuration with direct contact which is a plus.
Installation is pretty rough. The manual is vague at best. I found several installs on youtube that helped out. Also this DOES fit socket 1155 . The manual didn't mention 1155. It does come with a bracket to fit my 1155 rig. The assembly is large and the fan is not labeled intake or outtake on the fan or in the awful manual. I had to guess and guessed wrong and had to uninstall the board, chip, and fan all over again. It spun backwards compared to my case fans and power supply fan. Figures. the fan is difficult to remove.
