Vantec Tornado 80mm Double Ball Bearing High Air Flow Case Fan - Model TD8038H

Pros: WOW this thing moves a lot of air! I had no idea that an 80mm fan could be this effective. I am VERY impressed.

Cons: Loudness is not a con for this fan... it's what you're paying for. If you want a quiet fan then why in the world are you looking at an 80+ CFM 80mm fan?

Also, if you have a fan controller - this fan isn't really that loud except at max RPM.

Overall Review: You think you know, but you have no idea how loud 55+ dBa sounds blowing in your case. I have a Silverstone FM-121 and a Scythe Ultra Kaze in my case, along with an XFX BE 7970. This fan at max RPM drowns out all three of those at max RPM combined.

A fan controller is an absolute MUST for this fan. I use it as a side exhaust over my 7970 and only turn this fan on when I'm playing games with a high overclock on the card.

You need to use headphones or crank the volume up when using this fan and gaming... then it's no problem.

Pros: Bought 2 of these for use as exhaust fans. Oh my, I have my own weather system under my desk. I can feel it on my legs more than the 18" fan 8ft away from my head. Temps instantly dropped 10deg for case and 6 for cpu&NB (p4 3ghz ic7g)

Cons: I am not known for a weak constitution, but I was litterally becoming physically ill from the noise in under an hour. Not really stomach, just general body uneasiness. 45 mins after disconnecting my ears are still ringing. It is said in every review, but in case you miss it THIS THING IS LOUD

Overall Review: Loud is fine, that's what fan speed controllers are for... but this thing is dependant on Molex connections and after an hour the only thing I can find is " APEVIA FC-01 Multi Fan Speed Controller " (search here) the product tour says it can use a 3pin fan controller- this is a lie. I am not comfortable hacking together connectors in my main pc. If a future reviewer could recomend a good controller I (and I am sure many others) would be eternally grateful.

Got this trying to make my old p4 last just a couple more months to wait for the i7...
