Rock Solid After 3 Years

This power supply is rock solid. I purchased it back in December 2010 to power my 1st gen i7 and now its powering a 4th gen i7 rig. The modular design and lengthy cables worked great in my full tower case as well as in my current mid-tower Cooler Master HAF 912. I like the lengthy cables because I go a bit nutty on routing and managing cables in my case. I loved this 750w so much that I've purchased 2 of their 550w versions for other builds that I put to gether for some friends.

I only had 1 minor issue, the fan began making a very subtle clicking sound. It was barely noticable over the other fans but I'm a bit of a nut job and had to do something about it (side note: when I say this, typically it means that I'm about to void my warrenty). I got a 140mm fan which a hair too big. These PSU's use a 135mm fan which are quite difficult to find, by design so this type of operation isn't possible. After getting the old fan out I got the new one out, cut the connector, stripped the wires, slapped on some wire nuts and zip tied the fan & grill into place (since the screw holes no longer lined up. I was surprised at how well it worked and its been trouble free since. This isn't really a big con because lets face it, fans go bad all the time. I found my redneck work around for it.

Why wait 3 years to review this power supply? 1st I was bored and drifting through my newegg account marveling at how much money I've spent here over the years and came across the invoice. It dawned on me that this is the oldest component in my current rig and has never given me trouble. It speaks to the outstanding quality of this power supply. 2nd I appreciate reading reviews of products that others have used for a longer time period. Most feedback comes after a month or two of use. It gives me more comfort in knowing that I'm purchasing a quality product that will go the distance.
