Even paired with a slower CPU (i7-4790k) still saw a good 40-50 fps increase in most games over my old 980. Been using MSI cards and boards since I Got a 5870 and a 890fx Haven't had an issue with them since. And was nice that they finally released a non factory oc'ed version for cheaper got mine to boost to 2010 mhz no big deal and cooling is great.
Still more expensive than it should be for price vs. performance but it does trade blows with a 1080ti and with them being way overpriced new again not too bad.
Would recommend but if you do have an older cpu you will get a bottleneck, mine isn't horrible but it is there especially on cpu intensive games ofc.
Performs well with 1440p
Can max most games settings
Extremely sloppy heat sink install from factory.
Heat pads were misaligned for the VRM column. Literally 3 VRMs had no contact with the heat pad.
So much excess thermal paste that the gpu chip was surrounded by a wall of paste on 4 sides. Tedious to clean off and reapply the correct amount.
Fan curve is ignored when under load, the gpu bios overrides any user fan curve when certain temperatures are reached.
Very loud when the fans go to max speed, loud as a vacuum cleaner.
Would not recommend to anyone looking to buy. Originally for about 7 months a custom fan curve fought off the fan speed overrides but after that it was unbearable. I removed the heatsink to find how sloppy of a job it came out of the factory. After correctly aligning the heat pad for the VRMs and cleaning/reapplying thermal paste it seems to perform like when I first got it. It doesn’t increase fan speeds ridiculously often now.
Paid for a sloppily finished product. Beware.
