Pros: -Great screen that can be viewed from wide angles.
-I added a 525GB SSD and it boots fast!
-I got this for my wife and she loves the back-lit keyboard.
-The keyboard has a really great feel to it.

Cons: -The technical support from ASUS was NOT helpful. I installed a Crucial MX300 525GB M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (quite a bit less expensive than the Samsung equivalent AND it comes with a screw), and the computer BIOS recognised the drive, but after cloning the hard drive to it, when I pointed to it in BIOS as the boot drive, it would not complete the boot (screen starts flashing randomly before it gets to the desktop and never gets any further). When I called ASUS to try to resolve the problem, they told me that 128GB was the largest SSD that this machine would take (NOT TRUE!). Then I called Crucial and they told me that the 525GB drive would work and suggested a number of options to try. I tried a couple of them with no success and then I got the idea of removing the hard drive. Bingo! Now that BIOS recognised the Crucial SSD drive as the primary drive it booted fine! I reinstalled the hard drive (which was then recognised as the secondary drive) and it still booted just fine. Surprising that neither ASUS nor Crucial knew to suggest this option, but all's well that ends well. I hope this advice will help someone else. The Crucial SSD was only about $130 so by installing it myself I got a drive 4 times the size of the one that ASUS offers as an option, and it cost less!

Pros: When working was extremely fast with the addition of a Samsung 500gb SSD.

Cons: CD-R never worked. Tried to return but Newegg would not accept because HDD was reformatted as storage.
Graphics card failed after 6 months and intermittently screen turns red.
Power button works only intermittently so even if the screen worked its hard to turn on.
The fan is located so if its on your lap its easy to block.

Overall Review: This was my first ASUS laptop but I have been a loyal motherboard fan for decades. Very disappointed. Would give zero stars if I could.
