Overall Review: Running great, wouldn't know it was a refurb. I got the little warranty with it too, to avoid any issues with DOA or a short lifespan - after all, it IS portable and that increases the chance of early failure. I like the fact that it's sturdy, a heavier, stronger feel than the ones out there now that just run off of USB (and you always need two USB ports with those)

Pros: Fast shipping, clean finish (after you remove the thin plastic), and acceptable burning/reading performance.

Cons: Drive seems to go into an "infinite spin" mode from time to time after burning or reading a disc for a period. Nothing can be read/burned in this time, the light blinks continuously, and the disk cannot be ejected (neither through the button or software-wise through drive managers). Even powering down the drive has no effect.

The only way I've found to eject the disk at this stage is to use the "force" eject mechanical button with a paper clip / pin.

I will likely RMA the device if problem continues to occur throughout the week.

Overall Review: Strange to admit, but the drive arrived with an adult film DVD in it. Assumed to be left by previous owner. This is more of a forewarning to anyone who may be purchasing the device boxed for another individual.
