Very powerful. I may only play team Fortress 2, but I made it so pretty my friends frown at me. Great price.
(And Batman: Arkham Asylum as long as they're offering it. Also a good thing.)
She runs a wee bit hotter than my last card. Installed the utility software, bumped it from 40 to 60%. Helps a lot with heat on both idle and load.
Needs 2x6 PCI-E plugs, but you probably already knew that.
When I pulled it out of the box, I lightly tapped it with a beer bottle and dubbed it U.S.S. OMGHUGE. Thing can land aircraft on it.
Has great performance on Windows. If you're $180, great performance is expected.
This thing is BIG. BIG! I can't emphasize that enough. Do some research and make sure you have enough space in your case. I had to spend my day pulling out my HDD shelf and drilling screw holes into a smaller shelf to make room for this beast.
I was highly disappointed with the proprietary Linux drivers. Not only was 2D sluggish, but 3D didn't have any noticeable change in FPS over previous cards. The 185.* and 190.* drivers both had terrible performance in terms of price for this card.
To top it all off, the thing busted after one day of use. I wanted to just send it in for a refund, but that's not allowed with this product.
If you're a hobbyist like me that likes to play around with Linux, go with something else. I should have done more research and gone with the 9800GTX. Not only is it cheaper, but there's a lot more information. But I made my stupid, stupid, stupid decision and now I'm stuck with this thing.
