I only have SATA2 on my mobo. My benchmarks as follows:
CrystalDiskMark 2.2
Seq. Read 277 Seq. Write 141
512K Read 265 512K Write 142.4
4k Read 31.46 4k Write 71.2
SSD Bench Access time
Read .133 MS Write .714
300MB/s is the max sata2 can handle and after signaling overhead my read speeds are as fast as your gonna get on sata2.
This drive will do 355 read on a SATA3/6 controller but at this point i don't think i need it. I do not have another drive i can write to at that speed nor a network link that does more than 1 Gb/s.
I only have SATA2 on my motherboard and do not want to install a SATA3/6 controller card. Besides the PCI Express bandwidth would limit it to 5gbps after overhead anyway and thats the limit for 1 drive. Add another drive to the card and its pointless. Will wait for my next mobo upgrade so i can avoid the bottleneck and potential headache.
To JADabandon and everyone else having some performance issues: ITS NOT THE DRIVE, CHECK YOUR PARTITION ALIGNMENT! Acronis has issues with this so be careful and do your research before doing a clone to a SSD. You can clone your drive and get correct alignment for free using win7 pro built-in tools and 1 other free tool. Use this as a guide it will explain everything.

No lag issues here. I DID LEAVE MY PAGEFILE ON THIS DRIVE! Your asking for hicups if you disable or move it to a spindle drive. The whole pagefile issue destroying your drive was played to death because of first gen SSD's. Unless you plan on keeping this drive for 15 years then its not gonna be an issue. Before the flames come in please look this up for yourself. Modern NAND's have a far longer life. anandtech has great articles on this. Good luck!
very fast for a few weeks
It Died. RMA from Crucial was a REFURBISHED unit (stamped right on it) that was DOA. Not feeling real good about the money spent on this item. to top it off, they sent me a version 1 with a 2 scratched on the back??? meaning somebody must have updated the firmware on it... Crucial or prev owner??? who knows? I had bought a ver 2 originally.
I'm going to talk with Crucial and ask for a BRAND NEW unit. after all I did only have the ssd for a few weeks before it died, and the RMA REFERB unit was DOA. Need some love.
