Overall Review: This set delivers particularly well-balanced sound. Everything you hear is very clear and crisp. It doesn't crackle when I adjust the volume knob either. Bass is firm and balanced. Reviews complaining about bass are misguided... Bass often comes down to personal preference. If it's really important to you, you need a woofer. This set is about balance and crystal-clarity, not about rattling your windows. That's what I wanted, that's what I got. I'm highly satisfied.

Pros: My goals were (a) to rid myself of computer-station clutter and the pops and bumps of inexpensive 2.1 systems and (b) to still have reasonable sound. Ignoring the bass, my adjustments yielded acceptable highs and mids given the price of the speakers. Still, the sound quality at these frequencies does not approximate any sort of "audiophile" level.

Cons: IMO, the speakers lack significant bass regardless of adjustments. No disrespect meant, but the prior reviews convinced me that the bass would be adequate for me given my goals. But, not!!! Given that your main goals are similar to mine and you can live without significant bass, I recommend the speakers given the price.
