It did fit a Slim Optical Drive. That a Optical drive that's used in a laptop for example. Part of my rating is that Newegg knows what they are doing. The First vender on Newegg's list did not deliver. I will leave that for customers to figure out. The least expensive vender is not always the best way to go. Now for the device itself. It works great. It also gives me an extra by for a 3.5" HDD or other drive device like a card reader. Icy Dock makes awesome bay adapters. Everything installed fine. The SATA power adapter is best thing too. You need this adapter to use a Laptop Optical Drive in a desktop PC. Icy Dock did not miss a trick.

I needed this for a couple of case fans I replaced. The prior ones where powered by molex and the new ones came with a hub that required a USB2.0 port. I only have 2 USB3 ports available on my motherboard, so I got this because both were already being used, one by my CPU fan and the other by my WiFi/Bluetooth card.
