That helps immensely when trying to install them -and align the 4 holes to those of the fans they intend to 'shield'. -Can be cleaned with a home vacuum cleaner -with a soft brush attachment. -Can be washed -by hand, NOT in a dishwasher- if need be. -Match the fan dimensions perfectly.
