In Hard Drive

Easy to install a M.2 hard drive in it. I ran a full image backup on it after installing a drive in it and it was cool the whole 20 minutes it was writing the back up. It does come with a thermal pad which is a bonus.

Ran 4 of these in a storage array for a few years. They replaced a similar array built on smaller SATA drives. Needless to say, they're muuuuch faster than the SATA drives.

So far this storage drive has worked very good. I have added files, renamed them and moved them around with no hesitation or other problems. It's quite, light and fits in my pocket just fine.

-the CMR is more expensive than the other western digital of same size, but faster. -Peek speed with multiple files I hit 200mb/s

NO RAID Real HBA PCI Gen 3 Works awesome with Windows Storage Spaces

Currently using for few DB Backup and it works perfectly.

- Works great in Unifi UDM-PRO - Just put it in the tray (no screws needed) and pop the tray in - Make sure it the model number is on Unifi Protect compatible device list (this one is)

The 4 TB space is amazing. Love it... I can move files from multiple flash drives and old laptops to this one location and I love that. Consolidating my files in one place.

perfect for NAS. I don't really need the AI function in the drives they sit in a UNIFI protect set up. I have the 24TB one in my home protect set up and initially it was loud, but it has become more quite since it finished it originally set up. I have 8 of the 8TB drives with no issues. 2 are cold spares. when they go in I'll order 2 more. I take the drives that are out of warranty and typically put them in our 3rd tier backup NAS systems and they seem to live forever. Technically out of "service life" but that doesn't mean I take them offline, I stick them into a lower use environment to live out their days storing old accounting stuff. Nothing as exciting as VIDEO

As I said in a prior review for a WD I would recommend this drive over a comparable WD. However in some case(s) I would recommend the WD over a Seagate. It really depends on the trade off(s) and so on. The Seagate ran just a tad hotter than I would like. About 12 degree(s) over. At about 111 degree Fahrenheit. That may not seem hot but over the long term will add up. I also had it in a external docking station.

WD hard drives have been my go-to drive for years. They seem to be more reliable consistently than most hard drives.

Easy to install the mSATA drive and detected by Windows 7. Note: You may need to know how to use "Disk Management" to format/activate the drive before it can be used.
