It's a fast external drive for backup

I received this drive as a replacement for my previous one that arrived in non working condition. I put this in my 2012 MacBook Pro for data storage. I do a lot of audio editing. The drive has only been in my MBP for two days, but it is working flawlessly. It is fast enough to handle 40 tracks of audio without any problems. It is an amazing value for the price in my opinion.

Easy to use

This is no harder to set up than a thumb drive and at a much lower price than a thumb drive of the same storage capacity. And it takes a standard micro-USB to type-A USB cord

It works. You plug it in to your USB port and away it goes. A pretty good backup program gets installed and you just tell it what you want. What more could you want. The competitive product I had decided it needed all new software which didn't work. You do have to wonder why companies insist on trashing functioning programs with stuff that just doesn't work.

Name Brand, only 1 drive has failed in the last 4 years out of 150-200 drives installed. Def recommend.

Fast throughput (depends on SSD, of course). Nice quality cables. No screws to loose. Easy to assemble. Works with Linux.

8TB of Storage Plenty of Storage USB 3.0 Plug and Play Nice Design and FAST!!!

Easy to set up, good value

Easy and quick to remove or insert drives-toolless. It is both eSATA or USB 3.0 interface. Computers instantly recognize it, just plug it in and turn on computer for eSATA or hot plug the USB

Works great, had a dead drive, but the three others I got were great. Trouble free replacement on the bad drive. Glad I bought from a reputable source.

Reliable data backups (no corruption) Reliable hardware.

I bought this for backup storage for Pixel phone. It is a great product but not ideal for direct Android backup. -Lots of storage -Fast

Arrived quick. There's little info online regarding the ACTUAL drive within the case, so here's some info: - Drive model is WD50NDZW-11A8JS1. This should be the same base drive as the WD My Passport 5TB and My Passport Ultra 5TB drives. That said the last 7 letters/numbers might be different on the Ultra, not sure how much difference that makes, maybe some slight differences on the PCB for speed? So if you don't care about the encryption/software on My Passport drives, the Elements is the best deal. - HD Tune Pro error scan (Long version): Full scan all clear, took about 6-7 hours constant 103mb/sec. - HDDScan: Extended SMART test clear. Stats showed drive is new. - HDDScan: 'Verify' test took about 13 hours, all clear - no bad blocks. Sustained 103mb/sec speeds and maxed out at 44C temp (ambient room temp is about 21C). - All tests were done on a USB 3 port with a 3ft USB-3 extension cord, not sure if that affected transfer speeds.
