So far the drive seem to be functioning well, ask again in 6 monthd
Reliable, not one issue in 3 years, no smart errors, nothing.
works a specified, does the job I need
Drive arrived quickly and undamaged. Appears to work as it should.
For Synology NAS users, the Synology brand drives means easier adoption, less headaches and fewer notifications. The extra small pennies/gb price per GB over other enterprise drives with worth it. No need to worry about compatibility with many features of DSM 7.1
- Relatively inexpensive for the storage (paid $390 for 14TB). - No issue at all setting up in RAID 1, sync'd like a champion. - Relatively quiet, though sounds a bit like boiling water when seeking. - Helium-filled HDD, 7200rpm & 2.5 million-hour MTBF.
Good performance under stress
Great drives. Ordered 8 and all 8 are working perfectly. They are fully compatible with the Synology Nas DS720+ Dual Bay Drives. I contacted Synology Techs and they recommended these drives even though they are no on the compatibly list. Synology says these are the max drive size for the DS720+ drives.

Newegg specific: Super strong bubble wrap around HDD, in fitted box, placed in loose bubble wrap within a bigger box. Fantastic packaging, especially compared to some online retailers here in AU. It's something I was really worried about for such a long journey.
This HDD has plenty of capacity for my security cameras. I switched from a 4TB to a 14TB and now I have months of video storage!
This pair of NAS drives replaces 2 1-TB WD Black drives I had available to use for 1 of the 3 ZFS mirrored pools on my new home server. My plan was to patiently wait until these two NAS drives came on sale. They were worth the wait!
- High time between failures rating - Decent performance - Good capacity
I am very happy with the purchase and the external hard drive I bought. Thanks.
High capacity with very quiet operation. Sale price was great too!
Good capacity and pretty quite even under load.

Easy to set up. Fast transfers and a small footprint. I traditionally swap out my external drives about once a year. Each year they get bigger. This year I bought 2 5TB drives to replace my older pair of 2TB drives. (My old ones will remain an archive.) So far, I have only activated one, but it is working fine.

This is no harder to set up than a thumb drive and at a much lower price than a thumb drive of the same storage capacity. And it takes a standard micro-USB to type-A USB cord
