Ordered two on the 4th of Mar (Friday) and received both on the 7th (Monday 3/7/2022). Ran all of Sea Tools diagnostics on them and they passed all tests. (Note: the Long Generic test takes ~14 Hrs.). I purchased a D-Link DNS-320 NAS in 2011. It was slow and their 2.05 firmware only supported up to 3 TB hard drives. I found freeware firmware called Alt-F that can be loaded on the DNS-320 and supports the 8 TB hard drives. I loaded the Alt-F firmware and it formatted the ST8000VN004s using Ext 4 in a RAID 1 configuration resulting in a swap file and 7.2 TB of usable storage. I copied almost 4 TB of data to the old NAS, breathing new life into a previously pretty limited 2-bay NAS server.

Good drive, works great as additional storage.

I ordered three of these drives so far and they have worked exceptionally well on my Synology NAS (ds1823xs+). While they are being accessed, they are certainly audible, but not noisy enough to cause a problem. I have already written around 15 TBs to each drive without any issues. Two of the drives are in a raid 1 configuration for redundancy. If I ever need more capacity, I wouldn't hesitate to order two more of these.

these where my first 12 tb disk ever in my life ands im just starting into NAS storage

Fast delivery, very good drive, very happy

Very well reviewed on the web, knew that it work well in my file server!!!

- It is a hard drive - it instals like any normal hard drive - it is as loud or quite as any drive

Installed and mirrored two 16 TB drives for a NAS. These drives run 24/7 and used for data backup and streaming of my video collection. They are so quiet and responsive. I had previously used the same brand but lower capacity for 4 years without any failure. Those previous drives have been repurposed for desktop storage and still performing well.

Large, relatively inexpensive, decent reviews on NewEgg

In very few drives it gives you a whole lot of space. Some reviews say it's loud, but I can't hear it over the slight humm of the fans on my NAS.

Good capacity and pretty quite even under load.

- Capacity - Speed - Buffer size - Reliability

I use the drive for gaming (Emulation). I haven't had any issues. I have it connected via USB 3.2 bay.

It's super quiet and access times are above what I expected. I admit this is my first large capacity drive ever, so far I am impressed. Already planning to aquire 3 more.

8tb hard drive that works

- Handles at least 18TB HDD - It's seen as a SATA bridge, not USB mass storage device, therefore the ability to handle large capacity HDD - So far, very happy with it

reliable, quiet, no issues
