This was an upgrade HD for what I suspected might be a failing, or at the very least overworked HD that shipped with my iMac in early '07. It was actually a harder swap than anticipated, but still doable. The real beauty of the thing is how much faster that computer runs with both Mac and Windows programs (parallels) compared to before. 128MB cache is really apparent, and a much needed relief (it was especially sluggish in some Windows apps, made more apparent when in a browser window on the Mac side)

Newegg has corrected the way they pack and shipped these drives. Drives were wrapped in air bubble case to perfectly fix the hard drives and stored in its own box. I performed testing of the two drives before adding them my array. I highly recommend these drives.
