I had a problem with an order but this seller worked with me to address the issue appropriately and in a fast manner. I was very pleased with their customer service and will definitely do more business with them in the future. I had a great experience.

it smells like a hard drive it looks like a hard drive it's quiet but it kinda sounds like a hard drive it's a hard drive

Good performance for 7200 RPM drives Mostly silent operation Running 24/7 in RAID 1 without issues Good value at 350USD each (you may find a different price) CMR technology, 5-year warranty

Quiet, I didn’t notice any sound coming from it while under full load. Fast, rated at 269MB/s Best price per TB Energy-Assisted Magnetic Recording (EAMR) Triple State Actuator (TSA) Helioseal 5 year warranty

First off, I only buy from Newegg, don't trust the 3rd parties. I order two 16TB drives , two different times. When they were on sale. Second time they came damaged by not being packaged properly. I requested a refund and waited... Wait for it to come through, so I could order two fresh drives. By the time I received my refund, there was only one drive available, came packaged properly. So ,I've got 3 not 4 as I'd like. First pair are over a year old now, no issues, little start up time, not too loud. 3rd and newest drive is great! Will buy again.

We use these drives in all our surveillance systems. High capacity, reliable, and inexpensive.

The Red/Write speeds are fairly good.

-Transfer rates are good - average a little over 200MB/s, drive to drive on the same LSI HBA on Unraid if it matters. -Temperature is good - average 30C in a 20C room during continuous transfer of files, about the same as a 6TB (WD6003FFBX), and about 5C lower than a 10TB (WD102KFBX). Idle temp is ~26C. This drive and comparables are in the same server/array. - Noise is relatively low, about the same as a 6TB and noticeably more quiet than the 10TB. - Cost per TB is good when on sale, very close to the largest 18-22TB rate.

Good price 12gb interface Works well so far in my Adaptec raid 5

Received the drive and immediately checked the warrantee status on the Toshiba website: yes, it's warranteed for five years, indeed. I get a kick out of the whiners who complain that the drive only has 4 years of warrantee left when they receive it. Who can buy a HDD the day after it's manufactured? Maybe if you live in Thailand, Malaysia, or Phillipines, where the drive is made? The drive has to be processed, packaged, and go thru the retail channels. My drive has 3.75 years left on the warrantee, which is fine with me. Be careful of the big A seller, because they change third party sellers often, and there are nightmare reviews of this exact drive being sold as OEM with no Toshiba warrantee, or the drives are used with thousands of hours on them. As for the reviewers complaining about the poor packaging on this drive, Newegg has addressed the issue. I got mine double-boxed, and the drive itself was encased in industrial quality bubble wrap and packed in a box for good measure.

I have 4 of these running in an 8-bay Synology 1812+ that sees mixed use for NAS/Backup/Surveillance. We just passed the 90-day mark since install and these HDD's are purring along. I have an 8-bay enclosure but run 2 disk fault tolerance so it really reduces the size available for actual use. Replacing 4gb drives with these has really given us some breathing room on available space. We will definitely continue to swap these into our diskstation but may wait until the price drops a little more now that our initial swap has given us ample breathing room.

This is what everybody wants in a hard drive. 1. Fast 2. Quiet 3. Reliable 4. Doesn't get very hot "For those that don't know you want your computer to stay as cool as possible." 5. Great transfer speed when transferring very large files, or installing large game files on the hard drive.
