Drive came in a nice clear plastic case and wrapped in Bubble wrap. The 4TB size is superb for an enterprise drive. Physically the drive looks like a standard 3.5” black and metal Seagate drive (but still nice!) The Formatted size with a single NTFS Partition was 3.63TB space available! This drive has SAS Performance and quality with energy efficiency + 6GBps! These drives were on the compatibility list for my Synology DS218+ and they came recommended by a trusted IT professional, so I bought two of these drives to add space to my NAS (I was replacing a single 4TB drive). I added the first drive and it added seamlessly to the RAID array. It took a few hours for the NAS to populate the new drive. I was then able to hot swap the second drive. Extremely easy installation (which says as much for the DS218+). It may just be my perception, but these drives feel a little faster than my previous drive.

Doing LLM training and needed to use a 35TB training file and 3TB validation file. Used 3 of these drives to create a RAID 0 drive with approx 54TB capacity. (this is on Ubuntu and formatted with XFS file system since usual EXT4 tops out at about 16TB file size.) Works great and much faster than a single drive would be due to the striping of RAID 0.
