This drive is fast, has excellent firmware, and is helium filled. I actually spoke with a firmware developer at WD and he said this is the drive to get (or a larger model).

Large Capacity Very Low Priced Easy Usage Biggest Drive I've Ever Seen, like an old 5.1/4 floppy

Very large 5 TB capacity for such a small HD. I have a number of back up drives but this one holds everything in one small package with 1.8 GB left over so it is great for travel.

Running this drive is ESXi file server. Storing Veeam backup data on. Using Deduplication. Finished transferring 14tb image back to drive. Was able to hold 1.8-2.1 Gbps write speed.

Used to expand my NAS, arrived promptly and was well packaged. No complaints.

Had used 8 previously for TRUENAS . It is ok

It's a cute drive. 2TB, very nice, plug it to a USB 3.1 port and it cooks!! I loaded it on a Linux system with the files my wife needed on her work laptop. in Linux it was very fast.

- Fast transfer rates for HDD - Not excessively clicky - Consistent performance and good warrenty

- performance at least 50% better than comparable home-application hard drives - excellent (theoretical) MTBF specs, so reliability should be top-line - built for RAID performance - with a good backup system, a striped setup with two Datacenter Gold drives (RAID 0) achieved performance within 75%-80% of the speed of my Samsung SSD EVO 500GB (the OS drive).

Lots of storage

Very Fast. At 8 TB it is just the right size for me to not grow out of for a while.

It works great. Now I have room for lots of photos. My techy installed it.

We use these drives in all our surveillance systems. High capacity, reliable, and inexpensive.

Great drives. Ordered 8 and all 8 are working perfectly. They are fully compatible with the Synology Nas DS720+ Dual Bay Drives. I contacted Synology Techs and they recommended these drives even though they are no on the compatibly list. Synology says these are the max drive size for the DS720+ drives.
