Easy packaging, arrived on time

Hard Drive is definetely faster than my 4 years old Barracuda. Perfect for my Plex Server.

One of largest drives on the market. Meant for 24/7 operation. Quiet. Works well in my NAS. No errors found on drive.

Added to Unraid array with no dropped sectors.

Huge storage that is faster than the 4 TB expansion disks that I bought several years ago.

Received drive where it was in a frame in center of box which was in a semi secure Newegg box. Plugged in drive into old mediasonic probox that was rated for 8tb drives. Worked fine. Ubuntu says you have to format that 16tb size as GPT and that worked fine. Over 14tb usable space. Temp of drive is similar to my 4 and 8tb WD red drives and is much cooler than the 10tb WD Plus drive. Speed was high at around 200MB transfer rates. Noise was slightly higher than the 4tb WD drives, but still low. Drive is new, not used, not recertified. Manufacture date is March 2023 which is when the warranty starts, so not very long ago.

I personally own 12 of these drives, and out of the 12 I purchased I had one arrive DOA. Maybe I was lucky according to some, but I think that is very good odds. These preform perfectly, and I have been a WD fan for years and because of these drives will continue to be. The prices have been coming down recently which has allowed me to buy more, but these were not cheap when they first were released.

Good size for a NAS

Cost effective storage Good read and write speeds

I originally ordered this from Amz for my NAS server but it arrived with bad sectors. I returned that one and changed to this one and it arrived and worked perfectly. Not only did it work flawlessly but it arrived a week earlier. Ill be ordering more of these as my funds allow.

Good capacity and pretty quite even under load.

240+MiB/s sequential write speed while connected to a USB3 dock. Came very well packaged.

delivered within 2 days on normal payment

Bought six of these to put into a RAID 5 configuration. As of right now they have been running about a month, no issues. Power draw is low (I can spin them all up at the same time without issues), average temperature is 80-82 F, and they aren't noticeable above the fan noise of the server, so I guess they are quiet. Haven't tested maximum speeds, but I can max out my 1Gbps network connection no-problem.

If you don't mind the little extra effort to initialize this drive, you've got a phenomenal drive for a great price. Remember, it's barebone, raw, unallocated, and completely blank. You need to use your configuration tools to format and create partitions. Once done, you will have nearly 22 TB of blazing speed, extra storage. I use a docking station, so I don't know how it performs in my PC's drive bay. I wanted a master backup drive for all my other drives, which does the trick nicely.

Got several of these 2TB drives for my latest NAS raid 5 array. They all spun up with no issues, and are reasonably quiet.

This product added alot more space on My PS4 it is compatible with most PC units as well.

I ordered the drive from new egg but it arrived dead on arrival as confirmed by my computer technician and in writing by the Computer Service Business. First I called Seagate .... biggest run around in my life. They wanted me to go back to the store and have them take pictures of it in the drive (it was already removed. I said i would not pay to do that. They said it's policy. I called New Egg .... CUSTOMER SERVICE COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE COOPERTIVE. What a great company to do business with. Yes, drives can arrive bad, but please, Seagate, don't have me spend hundreds of dollars trying to constantly install and reinstall it. Learn to trust the consumer. BOTTOM LINE .... stick with New Egg

8tb hard drive that works
