Easy installation. It is a "smart" switch and can provide basic information on port status and VLAN configuration.

Nothing else to add, works write out of the box.

This can easily be all you need for a small home office setup. Even better, with the trunking and VLAN capabilities, it integrates very well with higher end managed core switches, when you only have 1 cable run to an office, but need a couple phones, printers, and workstations, etc ... It properly handles PC's plugged into the backs of phones, and supporting/filtering both VLANs through the same port. Easy to use management software, which finds them all on the extended LAN with ease, making managing several of them in a hybrid network a breeze.

It's simple and efficient. I mean there's no messing around, plug in your internet and all your other devices and your all set.

Multiple switch port Gigabit connectivity.

Easy to setup no issues

- Beautifully designed switch, feels like it was forged out of a solid block of aluminum. - Passive cooling works! No fan noise, not a dust collector and if someone decides to put books on top of it (like my wife did) -- it won't complain; cooling is through the sides. This is a huge deal because when I was working with clients it got tiring to go out on calls because "the computer thingy is making a noise" -- just to find out that a fan bearing had spun out and needed replacing. - Rack kit is very nice - The power saving features are real! I put an ammeter on this unit and found that at idle it was drawing around 800 milliwatts (yea - less than a watt!). Just to see if they were exaggerating about the cable length detection, I tried it with eight 3 meter cables and then with eight 50 meter cables -- I could actually see a small difference in current draw :-). Under full load with 8 devices transferring large files I got no more than around 5 watts. That's like a kid's night light. Now these power savings are not going to bank you hundreds of dollars, but if you were running a rack full of these switches it could add up. Also just the idea that TP-LINK is paying attention to the environment is nice to see. - Their config sofware is easy to use and intuitive. Other than a few network settings you might need to tweak, this will be a set-and-forget affair. If you have several of these switches in your network then the software may end up being used a little more often. - TP-LINK's website is excellent. It's easy to find information on their products and they have a download section for latest firmware, etc. I did not try to update the firmware. They also claim 24 x 7 customer support, which was nice to see. - When doing large file transfers on a relatively unloaded network I was getting over 900 mbps speed. I'm on older cat 5E wiring but very high quality wire, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was able to hit this speed.

It just goes. It switches without glitches.

Metal housing is nice, Small form factor, Comes with rubber feet (optional), good construction feel to it (does not feel cheep)
