Pros: Affordable smart switch Sturdy metal case Includes rubber 'feet' for table mounting GOOD PRICE Energy smart. Fast, smart routing of net traffic.

-Its a built to be reliable for years. I love the 108. I've used it for traveling to conventions and it has always been rock solid always.

Silent and cool with plenty of room for power requirements with my PoE network cameras.

I'm new to the Ubiquity ecosystem.. But after having used routers and switches from Netgear, TP-Link, QNap, Eero, Asus, and some others I care not to remember, every single piece of Unifi gear stands heads and shoulders above the rest. Just the user interface along justifies going with Unifi. None of the above can touch them with a 10-foot pole. This switch has everything you could want on a POE+ powered switch with five 10 GbE ports (RJ45 mind you) and a 1 GbE POE port. It integrated into my network in seconds, and automatically showed up. So easy to manage.

As stated in the title this switch is well made. Heavy duty metal case and tight connecting ports.

-Whisper quite -Many Features -Web GUI or phone app to manage it -You have to know what your doing or at least read the manual.

Great product with upgradeable POE settings. Has 3 settings that can be adjusted for your needs when paired with a larger (same voltage) power supply.

Works as advertised and had no issues with autonegotiating speeds on interfaces with Google Fiber's provided equipment (an issue I had read about in reviews for other boxes which I was concerned about). Get full speed.

Nice switch and setup pretty simple

When it comes to setup, companies like TP-Link have put in a lot of effort into making the setup seamless and as painless as possible. That being said to get this device setup and on my network, it took me about two minutes to do. You really can’t get much simpler than that. The web interface is the same as any other TP-Link smart switch which is nice that there is consistency there. What’s in the box: Manuals/Tec Information External power brick Software CD Rubber feet Usage: Using this device is very easy to do and if you don’t want to use the web interface you can use the easy smart configuration utility that comes on a cd. This switch supports all different kinds of features that make it idea for a small company or home user. Vlans,QoS, Gigabyte, PoE, and much more. One feature to note with this device is its ability to sense when its PoE ports are being overused or stressed too much. Then device can detect if too much power is being drawn and when this happens it will shut off the fourth PoE port to protect itself. This is a nice feature that I am glad they added in.

The TP-LINK TL-SG1008P Switch is very compact. When you pick it up and feel the heft it gives the impression of well made hardware that could survive a few hits. Also given its 4 PoE ports it's generally a good sign with power supplying electronics that they are heavier. The AC->DC transformer is separate from the switch however. Speeds are excellent, every device I plugged in with ethernet gained network connectivity in seconds with no hiccups. Comes with an A/C power cable. The switch stays absolutely cool to touch even after hours of gigabit operation of multiple devices. If it was getting warm from PoE use the steel case was such an effective heatsink it still felt cold. The light indicators are completely intuitive and not overly bright or an annoying color like blue.

* Nice compact form factor * Included power adapter option is nice * Even nicer is being able to power it off PoE - one less wire/plug socket to deal with * Integrates well with the UniFi Network app, showing what devices are connected to it
