I was very happy to see that the product description, was very accurate. I needed a player that could play various types of files, especially DVD-RAM discs. This little drive is capable of a lot of different video types. This is another item that I purchased from Newegg. That is of good quality, at a great price, and delivered in record time for the least costly shipping rate. :-)

This is a great little external disc drive. For little money, I've been able to put all our CDs on our computer and in the cloud. Now I can get rid of them!

It will play DVDs and Blu-Rays. Get VLC or another software. Make sure you also research how to add the dll and other file to get VLC to play Blu-Ray. Also, make sure the settings is for region A if you are in the U.S.A.

Small, quiet, no extra power cord required. All my equipment, HP desktop, ASUS netbook, and Microsoft surface were able to power this drive with just one USB cord plugged in. The power cord has dual USB's in case extra power is required, but it hasn't been yet.
