comes with Blu ray player software

It read the Blu-Rays I tried.

Just plug it in and it works don't have to install anything very quiet

Worked with Ubuntu 18.04 immediately unlike other DVD players I have used The USB hub feature works perfectly as expected Seller was responsive and helpful Great performance - works twice as fast as my other one

USB 3.0 self-powered, no power brick Nice aesthics

Some Pros: - Works great with laptop 12.7mm DVD drives! - Slick design! - Easy plug and play! No drivers/add-ons needed! - Good price!

Looks good. Simply connect cables and unit works in all apps.

Slim , light weight no external power supply-works off the included USB cable

It will play DVDs and Blu-Rays. Get VLC or another software. Make sure you also research how to add the dll and other file to get VLC to play Blu-Ray. Also, make sure the settings is for region A if you are in the U.S.A.

Bought this in 2013, and still use it today. It just works. Windows XP, Windows 7, Ubuntu. Still use it today.

Sleek, black, & serious. A button to open the tray. A light for drive activity. The case doesn't have extra bulk or useless frills. This drive isn't fooling around. It has it's purpose and it won't let the user be distracted with uselss adornments, instead the jet-black case is the Zen diamond-pattern consistent with other Asus products. Needs a standard USB 2.0 connector for operation, nothing else (although it is a mini-USB connector, somewhat odd in this age of nearly ubiquitous micro-USB connectors). The drive is quiet, fast and reliable. Faster than my other external DVD writer. More reliable than other DVD writers I have also. Aside from the mini-vs-micro-connector issue, Asus executed the engineering and manufacturing flawlessly.
