In Desktop CPU Processor

Cheap, can be had for 100 bucks. Great performance at this price point. Runs very cool (58W CPU), Great for an entry level gaming PC or general use internet PC.

Peak of current desktop CPU market. Most or all chips seem to be able to get great stability up to at least 4.5 GHz. The die-spreader thermal interface material is known to be solder, leading to more efficient cooling. Using the XSPC Raystorm 750 AX360 (tri-radiator), my temperatures are around 30C at idle and 70C at full load, with maximum core excursions (after several days of full load) around 78C (as recorded by HWMonitor). Cinebench 15 scores are around ~990 at stock and ~1200 at 4.5 GHz.

Did not want to overclock, so saved some $ by not buying the K version. Using it now with the included graphics.

I will definitely recommend this here cpu by intel especially for anyone who is looking to upgrade they older system that have 8 gens or even older intel socket or just looking to switch form amd.

I Upgraded From A Core 2 Extreme QX9650 Socket 775, The Performance Jump Is Amazing Between The Two CPU's, Dont Regret Buying This CPU 8700k. Temps Run At The Mid 30's C idling, With A Stress Test From CPU-Z Temps Jump To Mid 80's C. Running Air Cooling WIth A Hyper 212 Evo. Temps In The Mid 50's C Coverting Video WIth ConvertXToDVD.

Works great

Unreal fast, handles everything I've used it for without problems at all.

Awesome speeds for 65 watts! No need for liquid cooling; wraith cooler is near silent.

Works great its fast, and I'm not used to that.

Very fast. CPU Index is 7.8 on my machine. Running this on a Sniper 3 mobo with 32 megs of 1600 ram and a GTX 680. Using a Barracuda XT drive and apps open in about 3 seconds. Don't really feel the need for an SSD in this system.

5.1 ghz @ 23c idle 8 cores 16 threads with hyperthreading Boots and loads everything very fast Great cpu for games

Intel has always made the Top of the line processors and the "ntel Core i5-7640X Kaby Lake-X " is no exception. Fast Quad cores, good amount of L3 and L2 cache. A good upgrade for someone looking to make an upgrade on a medium budget.

Astounding out of the box, ran a few benchmarks and it came in slightly higher than the average. The rest of the rig is Corsair Vengeance 3200 RAM, and 3 SSDs in a big ol' Fractal box.
