- It's a new AMD cpu. With this being said, I do 100% agree that for similar price, you should go with 7800X3D if you're heavy into gaming. - Undervolted to -15mV, and currently running stable (bought it at release).

- Socket AM5 installation is nerve-wracking, but simple. - Fast base clock with easy overclocking options if you have a strong enough cooler to handle the temps. - Rips through even the most graphically demanding games.

Like the 2700, the 5700X is a heck of a data churner, the 5700X a bit faster though not quite the boost I had hoped for [in my experience] which dosent mean its not a great CPU as is the 2700 at least to churn data. Works on an X370 board assuming a BIOS is available as one was for an AsRock X370 Taichi.

The 5900x worked out of the box... which is a good thing of course. It replaces the 3900x that was on the Gigabyte x470 Ultra Gaming motherboard. The system is running KUbuntu 20.04 LTS (Been Windows free for years now). The motherboard has seen a 1600, 2600, 3600, 3900x, and now the 5900x. Obviously updated the BIOS before installing new processor. Suspect it may be the last generation of processors for this motherboard but we'll see. How many motherboards can say that? The CPU is being cooled by a Cooler Master MasterAir MA620M which was also working really well for the 3900x. Idle tempis hanging around 33C. High so far has been 46C. MX-4 thermal compond used on the processor to air cooler interface. Oh, in BIOS, I disabled the turbo boost (don't need it) and turned on the XMP for the 32GB of memory. Also turned on option so I can have VMs. All works! Not a gamer, just a old programmer that is happy with his powerhouse computer. Did I need it? No. This was just to see how far I can push this motherboard and say that I could! Obviously I am leaving a lot of performance on the table being a x470 rather than a x570 motherboard with PCI4 and such. But so what. Always get one of them down the road.

Less power draw, lower temps, better frame rates, then 7700x. Seems better than outgoing model my opinion.

- Easy to setup ARGB with headers on the motherboard. No need for icue hubs or anything like that. - High performance fans with minimal noise unless they are under full load. Gets a bit noisy at 100% but have only experienced that during synthetic benchmarking. - Keeps my 9800x3d around 37C at idle, under 60C while gaming. CPU is not overclocked, but jumps up to 5.3Ghz at times with normal performance boosting. - Love the looks!

Maintains a reliable lower temperature than its competition in i9 14900k series from Intel. Most of the benchmarks outperform the i9 14900k but some do not. For the most part I really enjoy having the AMD Ryzen 9 flagship CPU in my system. The memory bandwidth is nearly double that of the i9 14900 with 6000MHz memory versus the Intel CPU running 7200MHz memory.

Does what it's designed to do. Coupled with an AIO liquid cooler, it works well. Also, there is plenty left over from one application, so it can be used for multiple builds, ...or if you mess up the first application, you have lots to get it right a 2nd (and 3rd) time.

a bit snappier than the older ryzen 7 5700x i had.

- Almost entirely silent. I can not hear the CPU fan until a benchmark or executable uses 100% of my CPU for a prolonged period of time. - Heat sink keeps it nice and cool. My CPU temperature has not exceeded 42C thus far.

I was tempted to go to the dark side and try AMD for the first time. I'm glad I stuck to my guns. This thing is a beast! I saw some 5+ ghz and I haven't OC'd it. I really don't need to bump it up.
