I bought this CPU after "test driving" many laptops with their iteration of the Ultra 7 CPUs. I was impressed by the smoothness and speed of these, so I upgraded from a 13700k to this one. The Ultra runs a bit cooler than the 13700k. Neither CPU was overclocked. In BIOS performance settings, this runs at 5.2 GHZ with zero issues. On air, it runs at about 33 C under normal load. Nice CPU.

Great performance Stellar fps in all games

The performance improvement is well worth the money coming from a 12th gen cpu. This is a no brainier upgrade with the Z690 chipset being compatible with 14th gen.

Fast and stable! I've done a bunch of stupid stuff like running multiple games, chats, and a video all at the same time and the CPU was never the bottleneck. Had some stability issues at first but that turned out to be the mobo and not the CPU, don't buy gigabyte.

- This thing crushes the 3D Mark CPU test - Handles O.C. as advertised like a champ - Is hefty enough that it could be used as a skipping stone (Not recommended) - Worked flawlessly after updating the BIOS to have the appropriate AGESA version

I am upgrading from a 5800X3D and should have got in last winter before the RAMpacalypse got this bad but alas I did not and now pay the price of FOMO. This CPU is a placeholder for the future Ryzen 7 11800X3D.

This is far and away the best cpu for gaming our right now. It's an absolute beast. AMD opened up overclocking for this chip and honestly there isn't much performance to gain there. But where this chip really shines is undervolting. I was able to get a stable -40 all core undervolt using curve optimizer and now this thing sips power in all core workloads and sits at around 55 degrees C with an AIO cooling.

Speed Price Ease of installation

Lasts forever (still have it going strong almost 7 years later!) Great performance!! I upgraded from an AMD processor and instantly saw a difference. I've been gaming hard on this thing and it never let me down!

Stock clock speed of 4ghz is great. Presence of VT-D in a k-series CPU is a welcome addition, as I may want to mess around with VMs. Ability to overclock is one of the main reasons to get this, though this high stock clock speed stands on it's own.

Paired with a BOXDQ77MK Intel motherboard, and runs VMware 5 extremely well. Doesn't pull a lot of power at idle; my ESX host now takes 50W idling compared to my old one taking 150W.

I7 is the best processor for the best price at the moment, never uses full capacity as it doesn't have to.

Was very easy to OC on ASUS P8Z77-V Deluxe; it's running at 4.5 GHz @ 1.205v, 105.4 BLCK, 43x Multiplier among all cores. Using a PH-TC14PE w/ AC5 cooler in a Cosmos II air cooled case. CPU idles 32 - 34 C , and under Prime95 or IntelBurnTest temperatures hit 56 - 60 C. It's not all that hot until you start to approach 1.3 volts. Lower power draw then previous gen chips.

I REALLY LIKE THAT THE PINS ARE NOW ON THE MOTHERBOARD INSTEAD OF THE PROCESSOR! RUNNING AT 5.3 GHZ WITH WINDOWS 11, AND VERY HAPPY HOW QUICK EVERYTHING SWITCHES FROM PROGRAM TO PROGRAM. HOW FAST IT LOADS, AND ABOUT 5 TIMES FASTER THAN MY 3950x I HAD.

Nice price, I recommended to buy it if your looking for top end gaming. Also need to remember that it haves integrated graphics that you can use while you try get your hands on the news gpus
