The TP-Link AC600 more than lived up to my expectations. It nearly quadrupled my throughput! This particular laptop is in a back room, far from the router (100/50 speed), with multiple solid concrete walls in between. (It's in a 1920s building.) Without an extender, it only had speeds of 4/2; with a best-case extender setup, I was pulling speeds of 10/5; and now, not even using the extender, it connects to the router at 40/20! Not bad for a few dollars' investment.

My internet went down so I finally tried this thing to see if I could connect my Linux PC to my cell phone hot spot. Yes, I can. Plugged this thing in and within minutes of doing nearly nothing to get it working, I had internet, from my phone. The actual reason I bought this thing, is to share files between PC and phone via bluetooth... Haven't tried that yet, but the configurator to set it up on the PC appeared when I plugged this thing in. I don't expect problems, it looked very simple to set up..
