Before replacing my motherboard, I decided I should replace my 5 1/2 year old Corsair CS450M even though it was working fine. I got the CX650M because the SATA cables are identical so I could just unplug them from the old PSU and plug into the new one. It worked as expected as soon as I turned it on. No matter what you wiring on the board side, pcie, cpu, gpu, sata, or molex... all of them have a 9 pin connector on the psu side, and can be plugged into any available port on the psu.
