Lots of backup power, more than enough plug ins, and attractive product.

I like that it protects everything I have running including my router too. My computer would shut down when I printed something due to my network printer. I have the computer in the battery side and my computer does not shut down anymore. I feel like I am protected better than I have ever been before!

We have a tankless water heater which is gas driven but has electronic components thus will not work when the power is out. I needed something that would keep the tankless water heater working. Have not had to use it for real but did a test and was able to run a hot shower for 30 minutes and still only used 2/5 of the battery capacity. This unit is reasonably priced for what I needed. I like that I can replace the battery when needed in a few years without having to purchase an entire unit.

I have the base Mid-2011 21.5" iMac. I wanted to protect my investment and my files! The iMac uses an Active PFC power supply so a pure sine wave UPS is required for proper functionality. The USB connection on this unit integrates perfectly with the OSX power save panel. Connect the USB cable and a set of options for automaically shutting down the iMac while being powered by UPS become available. You can adjust to shut down after x minutes or x% of UPS power remaining. I was also concerned about the power draw, and was originally considering a larger unit - but with the iMac and one external drive connected the load is only about 20%, and the estimated battery runtime is about 40 minutes. Checked it by pulling the plug - got the notice on the iMac screen that it's now running on battery and to save your work soon. The display on the unit is very informative and it has a small form factor. For OSX compatibility, price, and performance this UPS can't be beat.

This unit is built like a tank, which is good because it needs to be sturdy to support the heavy battery inside. Detachable control panel is nice for testing, especially since nobody's going to put this beast of a unit on a table. Link software works well, but does not always send me an email like it's supposed to. Sine wave output works correctly with ThermalTake Toughpower Grand PSUs (which means that newer PSU won't kill power during a transfer from AC to battery).

The only time I've heard it is when it recharged the battery, or when I had a power loss for a few mins. the size is manageable due to its stand up type frame, compared to a square box. this easily fits up against the edge of the desk. No smell. software doesn't put any lag on my system. It shows your total power consumption. It's a big enough battery to allow me to properly shut down my pc with plenty of time to spare. it serves as a power conditioner to regulate the voltage from the outlet this is my third one and since i started using them no more electronics dieing from power surges or brown outs.
