The 4 TB X300 drive was seen by my Mac and I had no problem formatting it to be used in my Akitio 4 bay Thunderbolt external box. Some quick tests with a couple of drive utilities showed no issues. It has worked flawlessly for a month so far and is fairly quiet. It replaces a couple of 1 TB WD Black drives that were 8 years old and showing errors. Who can guess how long this drive will last. I still have some SCSI drives from the 1990s in a Old Mac that still work. If this one doesn't last I may go to a SSD....
