Exactly what I needed to drive two additional displays on my machine. I also love that it does not require an external power source. Literally plug and play, no drivers or configuration. Decent price point, then again I am a loyal StarTech user.

This is an active converter, which means it uses power that it either draws from the microHDMI port or from the auxiliary power port. It can be used with or without auxiliary power input. Higher output resolutions demand more power. On my laptop, I can output 1024*768 to a projector without using the auxiliary power plug, but can't do 1680*1050 unless the power jack is plugged into a USB port. This is preferable to it simply not working, which is a risk you run if you don't buy an adapter with an aux power input. Color reproduction is good.
