- Increased capacity and... - improved controls over earlier model I've had for several years. - Came with a charge in its batteries! (I let it charge over night anyway.)

Clean power, dependable, outlasted any expectation and warranty, can recycle with trade-ups program, line filtering and RJ45 jacks

Lots of outlets, has software, line conditioner, as well as battery backup. Excellent value.

I have the base Mid-2011 21.5" iMac. I wanted to protect my investment and my files! The iMac uses an Active PFC power supply so a pure sine wave UPS is required for proper functionality. The USB connection on this unit integrates perfectly with the OSX power save panel. Connect the USB cable and a set of options for automaically shutting down the iMac while being powered by UPS become available. You can adjust to shut down after x minutes or x% of UPS power remaining. I was also concerned about the power draw, and was originally considering a larger unit - but with the iMac and one external drive connected the load is only about 20%, and the estimated battery runtime is about 40 minutes. Checked it by pulling the plug - got the notice on the iMac screen that it's now running on battery and to save your work soon. The display on the unit is very informative and it has a small form factor. For OSX compatibility, price, and performance this UPS can't be beat.

Using multiple open source platforms to write code for my college courses. Easy to configure using command lines.

Almost enough wattage for a UPS design that I was seeking way before purchasing after finally realizing I might need this much wattage or more as well as this design and the the only problem was that it just wasn't going to be enough wattage to properly shutdown all the connected equipment and that it didn't have all the possible connections I was still seeking for the type of UPS I needed this to be.

Mounts easily in short-depth racks, making it fit in nicely with network switches or audio gear. Cheap.

I like the fact that I can plug my high end computer into the APC SMC1500C along with my monitor, printer and other components into it and still not having to max out the total power consumption. I like the way the screen is so I can read what I need to see the UPS is working properly.

Front panel light is adjustable and you can easily mute it when power does go off from a front panel button.

it works as it should

Nice readout, good software
