4 out of 5 eggsThey are what they are

Pros: Good sound for basic computer usage. Simple controls. Look decent.

Cons: When turned up beyond 80% they can crackle a little. Don't get very loud, but that's what you should expect for $8. It may be a windows 8 issue, but I know that half the time I power up from sleep mode the speakers don't work.

Other Thoughts: I found that to get them to work again, instead of reconnecting, all I had to do was adjust the volume on the desktop; pressing the buttons on the speakers won't wake them up.

4 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: They plugin via usb, and work perfectly right off the bat windows saw it instantly

Cons: powered from usb, and sound comes from usb.

Other Thoughts: I like them for what they are, cheap desktop speakers. they work well for what i need.

5 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: These do pretty well using them to view youtube videos and other general use that doesn't include listening to music (for which I prefer to use a decent pair of headphones). Voices are clear, and stereo imaging is surprisingly good.

Cons: These work only through USB, and have no line-in. The speakers use their own sound driver, which if you're using a separate line out for headphones means that managing which is being used can be somewhat of a pain. The max volume is still pretty low, I'm assuming in part because of the limited draw from USB. There's not a lot of bass response, which is to be expected given the size and use.

Other Thoughts: It would be nice if there were either a 3.5mm line in, so that these could be used with an existing audio output, or a headphone out.

2 out of 5 eggsWorks?

Pros: I got this free for buying a gaming head set from Rosewill, works, don't expect much from a free set of speakers.

Cons: Yes, it's weak, 1 watt and the volume controller don't seem to work with the volume up or down, there's a larger delay in that and the speakers are a lot larger than it sounds.

3 out of 5 eggsCheap

Pros: Usb, cheap, sound is decently loud.

Cons: no knob for sound, just buttons. I am having a huge issues with hearing crackles and pops in the audio. With a little research its pointing towards it being a usb speaker. I have tried connecting to all my usb ports but still audio issues.

4 out of 5 eggsgood sound

Pros: Good sound. They have a nice balance between tremble bass and overall sound. They are much louder and better sound then on my laptop. Light weight, but still feels well made. No extra drivers or software required.

Cons: No separate volume control. Nothing else I can think of.

Other Thoughts: As previously stated, these do not have an extra volume control. They work off the built in volume control in windows, but that is not that bad. I saw someone say that it is still too loud, but do not forget, if you are playing music, both windows media and the main OS has separate ways of controlling the volume, so if just lowing the main one is too loud still, then lower the one through media player too. I am running windows 7 and for the buttons on the front of the speakers to work, you have to reboot the computer. They will not work until you do. The speakers have pretty good, but not great sound, but more like the sound out of a decent (not cheap) pair of headphones. I expected much cheaper and less quality of sound for the price, but was very pleased when I heard them. I paid something like $20 locally for a set of speakers for the computer a couple years ago and these have twice the quality of sound then those did, but these I got on sale for $8 shipped. Great value for the price

4 out of 5 eggsSweet

Pros: Free. I bought a headset and it came with these speakers for free. Free Free Free. They work just fine. They don't produce the most amazing sound I've ever heard, but it doesn't sound bad. Did I mention free?

Cons: Uh, USB? I like 3.5mm audio plugs personally.

Other Thoughts: These speakers have a small light with little intensity on them. It does not bother me. They are shiny and black.

3 out of 5 eggsNo separate volume controls

Pros: -Came free with a Rosewill cherry red mechanical keyboard.
-Good quality for the price and for my usage (work)
-Longish enough usb cord
-Only ONE cord, I always get usb speakers for work, less of a bother

Cons: -No separate volume control! The volume buttons on the speakers controls the OS/computer volume.
-Lowest volume with volume control at 1 (out of 100) is too loud for my work place. I need whatever I'm playing music with to have separate volume control.

Other Thoughts: Good speakers for the price and for my usage (work), but not separating speaker volume with computer volume ruined these for me. The lowest possible volume is much too loud for a work setting. I can't complain too much because these did come free with a Rosewill cherry red mechanical keyboard that I've been using at work now.
