5 out of 5 eggsvery nice

Pros: stepping up to this from an older logitech headset was like night and day. In games like BF2 and Company of Heroes I'm hearing sounds I've never heard before, and it really lets you feel immersed in the game. Mic quality is also excellent. Also, these are so comfy.. they're really a joy to wear. Build quality is good. Not as substantial as the 5H's, but plenty sturdy enough for the average user. Maybe if you went to alot of LAN parties and were contantly handling and moving these things from one location to the next, it may be worth getting the sturdier 5h, but for the avg. user this 4h set will do nicely. I'm very happy with both the headset and the service I received from Newegg.

Cons: Cord may be a bit short from some people's liking. It's not a problem for me, and even though I had read reviews beforehand stating the cord was shorter, I was still a bit surprised at just how short it was. That's pretty much the only thing I see that could be considered a con, but you can buy extension cables if you need it to be longer.

Other Thoughts: Again.. basically the same specs as the 5H. The only reason I'd get the 5H over this is if I was in a situation where there was alot of wear and tear on the headset and the extra $$$ is worth the peace of mind to you. Otherwise, this headset is very nice. NOTE-- if you're pairing this up with an Auzentech Prelude sound card and are having problems with your mic's volume being to low.. update your soundcard driver with the latest driver found on their website. Still not as loud as I'd like it to be, but after tweaking the soundcard settings I think I've got it where I need it to be. Still very happy with my purchase, though.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic headset and a great buy

Pros: * Amazing high quality sound
* Very comfortable
* Microphone works great
* Works very well in Counter-Strike Source

Cons: * Wires could be thicker, but it isn't a big issue

Other Thoughts: If your looking for a headset to game with I strongly recommend you buy this one. It's cheaper than the 5H and I think the two are easily comparable. Buy it!

5 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: It's bigger size of the ear drums really covers the whole ear and gives you a good sound, weight is too low even . so it's basically comfortable.

Cons: The mic cord is short in length, so somtimes u may feel odd .

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent headphones

Pros: Comfort - I can wear these for hours, typically 6-8 hrs. on a good gaming day. (This was my major concern.)
Sound - excellent rendering of in-game sounds. Hellgate London, Oblivion, Serious Sam2, LOTR.
Volume control - very handy while viewing online videos which often vary in volume.

Cons: Wish the cord had a thicker coating on it. (Its thinner than I'm use to so I handle it with a little more care than my old ones.
Mic - while tucks away nicely within the left earpiece, wish it would extend more than it does (~4"). The volume isn't very loud, though that may be my system setup, and honestly, I don't use it so I haven't tried adjusting it.

Other Thoughts: Replaced my Sony MDR-CD180 (which broke above the earpieces after many years of use).
Read where others were concerned about the bass; hasn't been an issue for me. Music/videos sound fine, and can always crank the bass more w/the onboard sound equalizer (seldom do though).
MSI mobo w/ ALC888 onboard sound, E8400 cpu (awesome), evga 8800GS (bang-for-the-buck winner).

3 out of 5 eggsEh...

Pros: Very comfortable, durable, good bass.

Cons: Doesnt support suround sound

Other Thoughts: Compared to my old Icemats these headphones are bad. With some tweaking, they're decent for gaming but if your into gaming I'd go for the Steelseries siberia.

5 out of 5 eggsSo war

Pros: Great feel... lots of padding and comfortable on the ears, feel little or no pressure, almost like i am not wearing them. Sometimes i feel weird because i think about it and can't feel them. Great sound, another reviewer says that it is weird to listen to music because of some feature but i notice no difference from the speakers i used before

Cons: short cable to plug into your computer must have a setup where you are relatively close to your computer. Cable is ~5 feet long

Other Thoughts: Came with a lot of tape on them, thought i had gotten it all but missed some on the front that seemed to serve no purpose

5 out of 5 eggsSteelseries 4H

Pros: Very clear sound, now im only using my onboard sound but still clarity is perfect. The mic is also great with its excellent clarity and the fact that it retracts into the left earpiece. The sound cord is a little short for my taste ( i like to rout it to where it out of the way when not in use ) All of this being said i think its very well priced and a great buy. Also its very very nice to wear. I can almost thing im not wearing it because its so lightweight and fits so well.

Cons: Some people may need to spend some time ( 10 or so minutes ) to configure it to there liking. Not really a con but to some it may be looked apon as one.

Other Thoughts: Stop reading this review and buy it already?

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price

Pros: The best "pro" is the comfort. These headphones are so comfortable. I have had no problems with it heating up my ears and I live in east texas(hot and humid). The mic is pretty good. I havent had any problems with it. I'd say the mic sounds a little above average. Sound is a custom soundscape by steelseries ment for games. When you first open the box it smells like a pair of new shoes, lol. =]

Cons: It dose have bass!!! It's just probably not as much as most people would want with over the ear headphones. However, if your getting these for CS 1.6 or CSS you should know that heavy bass disrupts your ability to hear footsteps(ect.). The custom soundscape by steelseries also makes these seem a little odd at first when listening to music.

Other Thoughts: They are just as good as the basic 5H in my opinion. If your a cheapo that demands quality at the same time I'd tell you to get these. I'm not disappointed at all.
