2 out of 5 eggsGood for sound... thats about it

Pros: Very comfortable. Excellent sound quality until...

Cons: A few days ago the left channel audio completely went out. Only right channel works now. I've owned this unit for about 6 months. This headset hasn't worked correctly since day 1. Since I first plugged it into my system the microphone pickup has not worked properly. When I would join any type of voice communication software (Vent, TS, in game chat) I would have complaints to how the mic would make a very loud static sound or that it sounded like i had a fan on next to me. I spent quite a lot of time troubleshooting this and messing with settings to no avail.

Other Thoughts: I would stay away from this headset. It's "quality" compared to cost is worthless, unless of course you want something that delivers great sound quality for 6 months and dies after that for $52.00.

2 out of 5 eggsCould definitely find better

Pros: The earphones are very comfortable and light, and give great sound quality.

Cons: The pull-out microphone is flimsy and sometimes hard to get out. The use of Mic and Speaker inputs make it a chore to plug in if you only have one place to put them. Mic picks up little to no sound most of the time even on the highest setting. Worst of all, the headset's Hi-Low-Off settings create a deafening screech for the listeners when switched around.

Other Thoughts: You'd think that if they designed the mic to only extend so far that they'd up the sensitivity, but instead, I find myself struggling to be heard over skype or other programs. The Hi-Low-Off settings are useless since they create such a loud noise when switched. Overall, this is a disappointing product. You can get so much more for your money.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing Product

Pros: This headset is extremely comfrotable and fits nicely on almost any head from the looks of it. This headset sits open so there is no squeezing or any other things that would cause discomfort.

The sound in game is exceptional. I can hear every step from half way across the map. The positioning of these steps is precise and this surely makes playng the game much easier.

The mic has very good quality both ingame and in voip (Ventrilo, Teamspeak, Mohawk). The pick up is very strong, so some background noise will get picked up if it exists, but this should not be a problem.

The headset I owned before this was the SteelSeries 5H V2, the 4H is on par with its counter part. The only difference is length of cable and the material surrounding the wires.

Also for music this headset is amazing, it gets very loud without hurting your ears like earbuds would...

Cons: Wires most likely not as strong as the 5H V2.

If you play for an extended period of time it give what I like to call "Headset Hair", or it leaves an indent in your hair that only like bounces back after you wet it or something.

Other Thoughts: For the price this headset is much better then anything you are going to get. Its like 40$ cheaper then the 5H's and you are getting practically the same product. This product should be atleast an option for every gamer.

3 out of 5 eggsSound is good

Pros: Comfortable for short durations.
Cord is a good length.

Cons: These headphones don't particularly block out all that much noise.
For those of us with glasses the ear cushions tend to grab hold of them on the backside. This means you either keep your glasses low on your nose or put up with some discomfort after about an hour of continued use.

Other Thoughts: If the ear cushions were replaceable I don't think I'd have a problem with these. As it stands I'd really like a little more passive noise blocking, perhaps a thicker outer shell?

2 out of 5 eggsAvoid

Pros: It's comfortable, even after long use. Retractable mic.

Cons: Cheaply made. The cord is very thin.
It feels like it could break very easily, which it did.
My mic no longer works after a couple months of normal use.

Other Thoughts: You can get a much better headset for the same price.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent cheap headphones

Pros: Good price, good microphone, reasonably comfortable.

Cons: Tinny sound. Uses the cheap style chord/connectors (9mm plastic connectors with low-quality audio cable) - I started having problems with one headphone cutting out after the first month, and I'm pretty careful. Definitely go for something more durable if you're prone to knocking things on the floor.

Other Thoughts: Seems you can't get comfortable headsets, a good microphone, AND good sound in one pair unless you shell out the cash. I'm definitely planning on getting something better next time.

2 out of 5 eggsweak wiring

Pros: I think the ear pads are comfortable, the retractable mic is a cool feature. 3-level mic control (hi, lo, mute) is neat, speaker volume control is nice to have on a headset as always. Seems to be adjustable for pretty large heads, and I think the ear cups will completely surround *most* ears, except for very large ones.

Cons: the wiring going into the volume/mic control module went bad at just over a month of use. Started cutting out the right speaker (so only the left would work). Fiddling with it gets it to work, but it's obviously become loose/damaged. This sort of problem pretty much makes the headset permanently damaged for most people, unless they can crack open the volume control thing and re-solder the wires or something.

Other Thoughts: I really don't understand why virtually every headset has such very thin wires . It seems to me that nearly every headset I have had has had its wiring connection come loose somewhere, and it wouldn't happen as much if the wires were just larger, and therefore stronger. Who would really care if the cord coming out of the headset were thicker if it meant your headset wouldn't break just because you tugged on it accidentally?

2 out of 5 eggsComfortable but flimsy.

Pros: Very comfortable fits head perfectly, at first great sound quality and volume.

Cons: After about 2 weeks, its already screwing up when cord on the ends and beginning of the volume control is moved , you get static and lose volume in one of the two ears and volume goes from low to high.. very irritating!!

Other Thoughts: Really too bad I cannot replace this one for another different headset because this one I do not trust with how fast this flimsy cord failed for me, not happy at all.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat headset

Pros: Great headset, Paired it with the USB sound card and works even better.

Cons: Flimsy cord, ran it over a few time with my computer chair and now the inline volume switch is touchy.

Other Thoughts: Great headset for the price, only problems are the inline volume switch, and the flimsy cord.
