5 out of 5 eggsGreat Board

Pros: Small form factor, excellent build quality

Cons: No HDMI

Other Thoughts: I bought this board for an HTPC build. I was looking for something durable, cheap, flexible, and small. This fits the bill. A cheap graphics card completed the setup for my HTPC, an HDMI port would have been nice. This board has been running for several months without issue, and I anticipate years of good performance based upon the quality of the board.

1 out of 5 eggsit didnt work after 2 rma

Pros: should be a great mother card if working. it was with a nice combo cpu + mb

Cons: I did 2 RMA and it didn't work twice then I switched to an intel motherboard.

1 out of 5 eggsVGA Output does not work

Pros: Did not work with my monitor so cannot evaluate.

Cons: Computer would not recognize any vga devices. I tried 2 different monitors connected to the onboard VGA. I then installed a new video card and the vga device was not recognized when plugged into that either. When using HDMI on the new video card, I was able to get it to work.

This is my second board. I RMAed the first board for replacement and the second replacement board has the same issue. Returning the board again for credit and ordering a different board.

There have been other reviews of people having issues with the VGA output as well. I would recommend chosing a different board if you intend to use a VGA monitor.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you for your comments. Honest and constructive opinions are always welcome. We apologize for your difficulty with your Gigabyte product.

It is unlikely that 2 motherboards will have the same issue. Please verify that your Intel processor contains a GPU by reviewing the validated processors link below.

http://www.gigabyte.us/support-downloads/cpu-support-popup.aspx?pid=4195

From the table, the column GPU Frequency with "N/A" means that particular Intel processor does not support graphics, and you will need to provide your own separate graphics card.

5 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: 6 SATA, USB 3

Cons: only 1 PWM system fan header. Only 2 RAM slots but that's pretty standard for microATX.

Other Thoughts: Quality board for the money.

5 out of 5 eggsA Hackintosh Beast

Pros: 99.9% Hackintosh capable out of the box, decent amount of USB and SATA ports.

Cons: Only 2 memory slots and could use 2 more SATA 6Gb ports no firewire.

Other Thoughts: Installed, ran multibeast, installed Mountain Lion, installed audio drivers, good to go.

Paired up with a GT 640 and 16GB of RAM and this turned into a very capable Hackintosh Pro.

Final Cut runs much better than on my 2011 Macbook Pro.

5 out of 5 eggsTiny, but Rock Solid

Pros: Gigabyte calls this a MicroATX, but it's really smaller than MicroATX standard. Nevertheless its a real workhorse and an excellent value, though it does look a bit underwhelming mounted in a mid-tower case. It's also a bit of an oddball in that it has a parallel port, which is good news I suppose for those few who still have to use ancient hardware because the idiot boss won't part with the vertical market management software he's been using for 20 years. I seen a few of those in my time so I'll be buying more of these just for the LPT port.

In case you're the adventurous type this MB makes an excellent foundation for a Hackintosh project build. Mountain Lion installs on it almost like a factory-built Mac Pro.

Cons: None so far, nor do I expect any nasty surprises. I've used Gigabyte MBs for years and they've all been satisfactory.

Other Thoughts: It's not a con really, more of an observation. This is a more than decent motherboard, but it is a bit limited. If you've got an i3 or any kind of Ivy Bridge spend more bucks for a board with more expandability. However any CPU less capable than a Sandy Bridge G860 can't find a more suitable home than this board.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat motherboard with new and antiquated features

Pros: Works great, intended to make this a Ubuntu box and it works fine running that. But was so impressed by its performance that I've made it my main desk computer running Windows 7x64. Using the on-board Intel graphics and that's very solid.

Cons: Would have been nice if the board came with HDMI out. Instead the engineer thought it was important enough to include a parallel port???? Even an analog VGA out is rather dated.

Other Thoughts: The BIOS is real nice and easy to navigate. Flashed up from F6 to F10 without a hitch. Best to download the Intel video drivers direct from Intel as what's on the Gigabyte website aren't up to date.
