3 out of 5 eggsCrashing and bluescreens. Pretty certain this is the cause

Pros: Inexpensive, worked fine for a while

Cons: Not a lot of fan headers, not 100% sure but suspect this may be causing crashes

Other Thoughts: This was my first PC build, late 2012 to early 2013. I just went inexpensive, and this board seemed like a good option. And it was. It served fine up until recently. Then problems started arising. Bluescreens, lockups, weird video glitches. I started swapping out components. Updated BIOS, upgraded processors, new graphics card, changed out the memory sticks. I'mgoing to attempt an RMA for this motherboard, as I don't have the money to keep buying all new components. If this fixes it, I will edit my review.

Pros: easy to setup and worked great for a while

Cons: just after about a year of using this motherboard it just stopped working. Me and a friend have done everything we can think of to rule out what the problem was and it was the motherboard. I don't regret buying this product but I am now unable to continue gaming because I don't have the money to buy a new motherboard.

Pros: Worked pretty well for 2 years

Cons: Pretty weak reliability for an "award" winning board. The RMA process has been noting but a nightmare. After it took three days for them to "receive" the board even though I know it was already delivered. They proceeded to take the rest of the week to decide it was actually broken, without telling me what the actual problem was. So I called them probably for the second time to find out that even though the board was marked as broken I was no closer to receiving a replacement. The person on the phone stated that even though it was marked as broken it was going to have to pass though another person taking who knows how long even though they could have already started shipping me a new board. If I knew the process would have been this terrible I would have just bought a new board (not a gigabyte) so I could just sell other board. Now I'm just stuck with no computer writing bad reviews of a board I should have received last week, or at least had in the mail.

Other Thoughts: Even though the board worked for as ling as it did, going though this rma process has been a nightmare.

Pros: everything needed in a single board. plenty of usb ports, good price

Cons: had the board for 6 months and it completely died. seems to always happen to me with AMD hardware.

Other Thoughts: for a solid reliable board ill continue to support intel and purchase higher price parts to have that cozy feeling "inside".

Pros: Was nice while it lasted

Cons: Only lasted about a year. Is it me or do parts just not seem to last like they used to? Seems motherboards in particular just dont hold up long term like they once did. Had to get an old Abit NF7 cranked up to order new parts.

Pros: It worked fine for what i used it for for 1 year..

Cons: It comes default in the Bios as IDE and not AHCI.. WHY? I'll tell you, because AHCI creates errors randomly, when its turned on properly in bios it creates problems with installations corrupting data, even when compressing and compressing files it causes problems.
And i know its not the HDD im using: Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD5000HHTZ 500GB 10000 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
And we are talking about fresh installs of both win7 and win8 64bit, there was no room for error in these tests.
I then changed it back to IDE and the program i installed many times and failed with AHCI now worked with IDE.
I ran it as IDE for a year not needing the AHCI features but i formatted after changing to AHCI because now i do need AHCI.

I also have corsair 1600 ram that runs at 1333 even when i manually set it in the BIOS to run at 1600MHz it errors and forces it back to 1333 after restart.

This board is trash and doesn't do what it is advertised to be capable of. False advertisement.
Im normally a fan of GIGABYTE but this really let me down..

Other Thoughts: I also have a GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 and that board i do trust, the GA-970A-D3 micro-controller must be off with AHCI because it corrupts data at random.. it runs the OS fine but things will corrupt or wont work at random.

Cons: Died after about 13 months

Other Thoughts: Used LOTS (40+) of Gigabyte motherboards with no failures until now. I guess I'll find out how good their return process is...

Pros: It was easy to install, compatible with everything so far, very fast, plenty of connections, etc.

I am running 16 gigs of ram and a 3.6ghz quad core. So far the computer has been very fast and responsive. I love that I can still make major upgrades in the future as technology grows to keep my system relevant.

I love that it has two pci express ports! With this board you will never need another usb port. It has tons!

Cons: none so far. It has been great!

Other Thoughts: I have had this board for almost a year now and never any problems.

Pros: Have been using for over a year now with no issues. Works great with Ubuntu Linux too. Gigabyte released a new bios for the new amd processors to work which is a huge plus. Would buy again.

Cons: This is not their current board.
