4 out of 5 eggsGood mobo for the budget, but watch the Northbridge heat

Pros: abundant I/O ports,
excellent built in optical sound,
One of the first boards to work with the AMD FX chips

Cons: Early Bios updates were iffy, and more often than not wouldn't take on the first try. Trying to save settings would cause and instant restart.

as others have stated THE NORTH BRIDGE RUNS TOO HOT, and the NB heatsink is a non-standard size, so it's not possible to find a 3rd party replacement heatsink/fan.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte is a solid brand, and this is a good budget board, but if you can afford something a little more, I would recommend it.

2 out of 5 eggsExtremely slow, drops USB ports

Pros: Supports Xfire and FX processors.

Cons: Extremely slow to boot, drops all USB ports when it goes to sleep mode, cannot return from sleep without reboot. Formatted drive as UEFI drive (SSD) thinking it should be fastest/newest type format. Bad idea. VERY bad idea. Reloaded windows as Legacy drive. Somewhat faster, but no much.

Other Thoughts: I think the chipset has issues, could just be this board, and I've tried changing/replacing nearly everything else. Currently have a repair order in to Gigabyte whom I've always had great success with thier boards in the past. I'll see how thier Support does.

5 out of 5 eggsBEST MOTHERBOARD EVER!!

Pros: Since I have Been Building Pc's for 20+ Yrs. The Biggest issue has been Price and ease of Install. Moving Jumpers, not moving Jumpers ect ect.
Coupled with a Thermaltake Case install is a Breeze.
Crucial Ram easy to install. PCI Express and Water cool system run smoothly and with out hitch on this board.

Cons: Gigabyte was a New Board to Me. I used to do strictly ASUS or MCI.
The Price was reasonable, but the Gigabyte wesbiste was a Bit Confusing at First.

Other Thoughts: I would highly recomend this Board ot anyoine Starting out Gaming. And Other Parts in My Build to be a goo starter rig. But of Course Improvements and Major Overclocking has taken place. And as Advertised it is a SOLID PC and BUILD
Built in 2012- Now 2015 Still Solid at almost 24/7 usage and Playing latest Games (Except Batman Arkham Knight) and that was due to GAME MANUFACTURE SHUTDOWN.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Board

Pros: Nice looking (if you like black). Good variety of I/O ports.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Got this board to go with AMD FX-8350 Black Edition Vishera 8-Core 4.0GHz and it works great. Haven't tried any of the overclocking features and maybe never will. Runs fast and cool so far.

The only negative I might say is that the UEFI BIOS isn't as clean as what I’ve seen from ASRock; but I don't spend much time in the BIOS, so not a big deal.

Also considered an ASRock "Killer" board; but heard lots about heat problems, specifically on the Northbridge. Got Rev 4.0 of this board, and there is a nice heatpipe for the Northbridge. So far it's running cool (30C) with just the stock CPU cooler and 5 case fans. Probably will add water cooling in the future.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, but could be better.

Pros: Works great with my 8350. Blazingly fast. Ample expansion room. Boots fast with my SSD. Budget-friendly.

Cons: USB 3.0 drivers (at least for Win7) are questionable. Sometimes they simply will not recognize something until you swap ports or reboot. Also has a tendency to tell you to plug the item into a USB 3.0 port even though you have already done so.
RAID for me is fickle. Luckily I don't boot from my array, but sometimes it will just disappear until I reboot. Other times I'll get a bluescreen and checkdisk has to go through the array on reboot.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat value

Pros: over clocks amazingly and a good price. id gladly buy this again if i had to.

Cons: theres two heat sinks which are connected together with a pipe on the north bridge. it gets very very hot to the touch but i have my system fans blowing on it to keep it cool.

and for whatever reason i cant use speedfan to control the fans that i have plugged to the mobo. i have to use easy tune 6 to control the cpu fan. the rest of the fans are on one setting. they scale together which is stupid. best to get a fan controller to fix that.

1 out of 5 eggs2nd Board Down

Pros: Great Price

Cons: NB overheats

Other Thoughts: This is my second board after having to RMA the first one to Gigabyte. The NorthBridge is currently over heating again. I have not overclocked anything on the board as of yet and may not be able to at this rate.
