4 out of 5 eggsGood but HOT

Pros: Runs great, even with overclocked 8 core. Supports about everything on the face of the earth.

Cons: Chipset Heatsink gets VERY hot. not sure if its my own fault or the board though.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board. I Own 4, and only had to RMA 1

Pros: Solid Board, works great! has room to grow. Initial build was with the 6300 CPUs which I later upgraded to 8300 series CPUs. I also went from 16GB to 32GB of RAM on each

Cons: None. It really is a great board. I would've given it 5 eggs, but I removed one egg for the one board that arrived DOA. Very rarely will I give 5 eggs on anything.. even a minor hiccough will get an egg removed.

Other Thoughts: I built a system for my son using this board. I loved it so much, I built 3 more with it.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good looking design, Dual BIOS, robust connectivity, ran fine until it didn't...

Cons: About to RMA for the 2nd time

Other Thoughts: I've had this board since January '15. It was running stable for four months and then things wend down hill. I decided to run SLI GPUs and needed to upgrade the PSU. I picked up a new one, swapped it in to the system (not removing or changing any other compnents) and got nothing. The system fans would spin for a quick second then shut down. PSU probably fried something, and I RMA'd the board. I now have a new PSU (EVGA SuperNOVA 750) and new CPU (FX 8350), but I've kept the RAM (G-Skill Sniper 1866 8gb). Now, the system fans run, but I get no POST and no video. I've done some basic breadboarding with no results. It looks like the board was not repaired. Something to note: the MB was returned in a beat up factory box as opposed to the brand new box I sent, and there was very minimal padding/bubble wrap in the shipment. I'm wondering if it was re-damaged during shipment, or even repaired correctly. At this point I've been without my main PC for over a month just dealing with the shipping and lengthy (over 2 weeks) "repair" process. Gigabyte did not include any type of repair report with the board, so I have no clue what steps were while they had my board.

5 out of 5 eggsGood MOBO

Pros: I Built my computer around black friday of 2014 and this MOBO has worked very well for me. It was easy to install every component and nothing was broken. The BIOS express disk is nice and installs everything in about 10 mins and your up and running. No regrets with buying this MOBO

Cons: Its the only MOBO ive ever owned that did not have random power LED lights on it, so when I powered up and nothing was lighting up, it was alarming but it had no affect on the performance and value so its not really a CON.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Board - Except for the Northbridge

Pros: I have had this board for a few years, paired with a FX-8120 OC'd to 4.2Ghz.

This board is good. The boot times are a bit long, but that's a minor thing. Almost any CPU cooler will fit. I had a massive Zalman cooler for the first few years, and it fit tightly, but not too tightly. I don't know if RAM in the first slot would be a problem, as I never used that slot.

Cons: The Northbridge on this board gets INSANELY hot. When I say 'hot', I mean hot enough to instantly give me nearly-second degree burns. The factory heatsink is downright pitiful for this board (Problem was fixed on Revision 3, but I have Revision 1.1). I tried an aftermarket cooler, but the fan failed on it, so I'm moving on to other solutions.

GTAV will cause your machine to bluescreen thanks to this problem. My apartment is only about 68 degrees, and it just bluescreened in front of me while watching YouTube.

Other Thoughts: If it wasn't for that Northbridge problem, I'd give this five stars.

1 out of 5 eggsWarranty is a lie

Pros: None

Cons: Less than a year old, dies. Contact Gigabyte for warranty (listed as 3 years) and they want to charge me to repair the board. This was my first experience with Gigabyte, and probably the last.

Other Thoughts: The last several years I've noticed the quality in motherboards declining, on a lot of high end brands. Will continue with the RMA process and update feedback.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going strong

Pros: This motherboard went into my first custom PC build, and after nearly four years is still going strong. It's been through tons of BIOS flashes (installing and diagnosing an SSD), and hasn't quit yet!

Cons: BIOS isn't pretty

4 out of 5 eggsafter 2 years report

Pros: it's a sturdy board. Holds plenty of PCIe components. Really fast bios boot. Has lasted me for 3 years now without degrading or noticeable wear.

Cons: Will not recognise my 16gb DDR3 1600 ram. automatically clocks it down to 1333. Not a huge deal but still a flaw.

1 out of 5 eggsTwo more DoA

Pros: Couldn't get one to work, can't speak to any pros.

Cons: First board arrived completely DoA. No power would pass through it, display still read "no power source" while plugged in, and it wouldn't power on. RMA'd, got second board. Second board struggled to spin up the CPU fan at power on, but after a few seconds posted, and I pulled up the BIOS and started setting up. Within 30 seconds it shut down and wouldn't power back on.

Other Thoughts: I've been building systems for roughly twenty years. Sometimes you get a bad component. In this case, after reviewing recent reports here, I fear a bad batch of Rev. 4 of these boards has made it into circulation. I wouldn't recommend buying one of these until Gigabyte figures out what's gone wrong at the factory. My second RMA will not be a replacement, but a refund, and I'll be looking to another maker for a solution.
