2 out of 5 eggsa 2nd Chance

Pros: Looks nice, has all the power and I/Os I am looking for.

Cons: Arrived defective.

Other Thoughts: In my experience, this product arrived defective. I assumed since it was brand new, it would have no issues so I spent another $300 or so replacing other components I thought were causing my computer to not post. By the time I narrowed the problem down to being a faulty motherboard, it was past the 30-day RMA window. I had no other option than to drop another $130 to order a second motherboard. I guess I have to throw the first one in the trash if the 2nd one works. I really hope I have better luck this time. I will edit this review after I receive my second mobo.

5 out of 5 eggsFlawless so far

Pros: Well built. Easy upgrade with absolutely no issues. Does not get too hot at all. I was concerned about heat after reading other reviews, but mine runs fine, heat sinks are only slightly warm to touch.

Cons: Case fan headers, only one controls fan speed. Others monitor, but they run full power. Not a big deal though. Only con I can think of.

5 out of 5 eggsGA-990FXA-UD3

3 out of 5 eggsPremium Price for Average Board

Pros: It's a perfectly functional board, all specifications as advertised.

Cons: High price.
I/O shield was not quite right. Difficult to snap into place and puts more pressure on the board than is usual.
Difficult to avoid processor and memory heat sinks when routing fan cables. Could use an additional fan header as well.
Sata ports on the edge of the board (some may consider this a pro, but this is a full depth ATX board, so you would need a deep case for those ports to be readily accessible.)

Other Thoughts: I'd expect most of the Cons if I had bought a $60 board (and be criticizing myself for being cheap) but I spend over $100 on a product from a manufacturer I'd previously been very pleased with. I have several older Gigabyte boards - in fact this was replacing an older Gigabyte ATX board in the same case, so that just made the installation issues even more apparent.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat balance between price and quality

Pros: -Good amount of slots and inputs
-Easy setup, good bios
-Looks great
-Great price to quality ratio: if you want to build a budget machine but don't want to compromise THAT much, this is the perfect choice.

Cons: -The SATA ports are pointed towards the right. This may not be a problem for everyone but my Rosewill Challenger case had a metal bar in the EXACT same position. It made it a little difficult to plug in my SATA devices. Not enough to take an egg off, but something that's good to know.

Other Thoughts: When you're building a budget machine there are a few things you shouldn't compromise on; the motherboard is one of them. This product is the perfect balance where you can get a quality MB without breaking the bank with top-of-the-line $200-400 boards.

4 out of 5 eggsFollow up on previous

Pros: AM3+ processors, 32 GB RAM, PCIe ports, lots of stuff can be plugged into it.

Other than what's said in the con and other, a good board. been running well for a week straight.

Cons: the UEFI. You technically can't say the UEFI bios, because that isn't right, but i'm saying it now. the new UEFI bios...stuff.

doesn't support PCIe 3.0

Other Thoughts: It is a pain to work with. It likes some cards, some cards it doesn't. I couldn't get the 750 ti to work for the life of me. Don't bother with Gigabyte tech support. The guy i talked to was a joke. "try this setting...if that doesn't work, i don't know". Really? 1 guess? The video card tech support walked through each of the settings in the board, and explained things to me that I didn't know. It was as if they designed the board themselves.

This board may or may not be ready for uefi video cards. I wouldn't chance it. And no thanks to windows 8 for that uefi stuff. Personally, i find the uefi stuff absolutely dumb. one of the benefits they say about uefi is 'remote support directly through the bios' . No, wrong. that's just another access point for hacking into a computer.

5 out of 5 eggsFollow up to previous review

Pros: Again the board is visually nice. The direction of the SATA ports is nice, helps keep cables out of the way.

Cons: I did get the board up and running. Found out it may be a PSU problem with the graphics card I was putting in so please disregard the previous review. I am having absolutely no problems with the motherboard any longer. At least I think so.

Other Thoughts: My power supply unit is 700w, but I found out that is the peak output, sneaky buggars, it actually runs at 550w continuous. Although I've done a few power calculators and that should be enough, I believe that is the culprit in my situation. I would delete my previous review if I new how.

5 out of 5 eggsNice board

Pros: I replaced an Asus MB that went bad with this one. Overall the design of this one is much better. It's looks better as well. It has plenty of hook ups for multiple HDD, fans, USB, etc. Front USB 3.0.

Cons: None so far

3 out of 5 eggsREV 3 has caused me a lot of trouble

Pros: It was a good board with my phenom ii 965 and a hd7870...

Cons: I bought it to eventually to move into FX series... well I bought a fx8350 and a hd7970 to go with it a couple weeks ago and its been a nightmare for me. Now I am finding all this bad stuff about the REV 3 board. I have massive cpu clock/ voltage throttle under any kind of load. I have re applied paste, evo 212 cool. Turns out to be VRM heatsink is bad and needs a fan placed on it.... no thanks, no ghetto rig please lol. setting up RMA today and asking for rev 4.

Other Thoughts: it was good with old phenom setup so if that's what you have then should be ok. Try to buy none rev 3 haha

4 out of 5 eggs50/50 but great

Pros: incredible and easy to use bios menu and great indication were componants need to be inserted and looks and handles great under load witha Fx 8350 overclocked to 4.8ghz and nice/great cooler of chipset

Cons: wile overclocking pc restarts immediately after power on my guess is to set the new clock speeds something that i do not like but seems normal hope there is a future bios update soon but other than that product is great for a low budget setup

Other Thoughts: nothing else could keep me from recommending this product
