2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Fast, easy to set up and has tons of great features, including 8 USB ports (2 of which are 3.0).

Cons: Ordered all the components to build my husband his new computer - a bit of a "dream" machine. Order was placed in late August (2010), built the computer in late November (delayed because of my scheduling difficulties). The motherboard died three days ago - just stopped. I replaced all the other components from another computer I built for me a few months earlier, so I knew they all worked. Nothing...

Other Thoughts: I noticed on Newegg's site that this item is no longer available or is discontinued. Just my luck!! Not to say the warranty basically sucks... So, now I have to try to get ahold of Gigabyte and send it to them - assuming they'll even RMA it - wait for a new board... My poor husband will be without a computer for close to a month - at least... That just sucks! I am very disappointed with Newegg and with Gigabyte. I thought their quality WAS better than it was with this mobo.

1 out of 5 eggsGo with an ASUS

Pros: Lots of pcie slots, includes chipset water block as well as a nice passive cooling heatpipe.

Cons: Crashes constantly... likely a defect but the huge number of people that had to try 2 or 3 times to get a functioning board is pathetic and speaks volumes about gigabytes quality control.

Other Thoughts: The defect issues aside the design and layout of this motherboard was not thought out at all... for instance when you use the heatpipe set up it blocks access to the NB fan riser... if your using the heat pipe then you're not liquid cooling.... and the fan riser you'd use for air cooling is blocked by the air cooling component...

It also blocks access to the HD audio connection point...With the extra 1/2 in length You'd think they could ensure nothing is blocked or un-usable...

4 out of 5 eggsNICE

Pros: REALY LIKE IT I SEEM READY TO UPGRADE FROM MY GIGABYTE 590 SLI RIG THATS BEEN A SOLID RUNNER AND STILL HANDLES THINGS WELL TODAY EXCEPT FOR HEAVEN WITCH JUST CRIPPLES IT [I CALL IT HELL] BUT IT RUNS IT JUST POORLY

Cons: SOLD OUT BUT GLAD I'M IN NO RUSH HATE TO HAVE TO SPEND $$ CAUSE I FEEL I SHOULD RUN HEAVEN AT GOOD FRAME RATES.

Other Thoughts: THIS SOLD OUT BOARD LOOKS TO BE THE REV 2.0 AS SHOWEN IN THE PIC. AND SPEC. HOPEFULLY WHEN THERE BACK IN STOCK IT WLL BE THE REV 2.1 BOARD ALL I CAN SEE IS THE MEMORY STANDERD HAS CHANGED BETWEEN THE TWO. STILL MAY HOLD OUT TO SEE IF THERES GOING TO BE AM3+ AND A 990FX BOARD

1 out of 5 eggsE-ATX and XL ATX not the same

Pros: Lots of PCIe slots

Cons: board was DOA.

Other Thoughts: I have an E-ATX case, Cosmos RC-1100s, but since this board is longer than wider, it would not fit. If you're power supply is at the bottom, then more than likely, this board will not work for you. RMA'd this board and got the standard UD5.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Motherboard

Pros: Tons of over clocking options. So far has been stable. Handy Clear Cmos button on board if you mess things up. Lots of room for more cards in the future.

Cons: If you use the silent heat sink rather than liquid cooling, put it on AFTER you have the board installed in your case. It covers a screw that is nearly impossible to access otherwise.

Other Thoughts: This is a huge motherboard. I had to bend the bottom of my motherboard tray to make this fit. Any case with 8 card slots at the back should be fine. As a point of reference, my case is the Ultra M923. So with some modification, it CAN hold this board, but I would look for something bigger if I were buying a new case for this.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply Amazing

Pros: Everything about this board has left me satisfied. The bus speeds, the craptons of PCIe x2 and SATA ports, and not to mention all the USB 3.0 / SATA 6Gb/s. It makes me smile every time I turn it on...everything boots up quickly and nothing has gone wrong thus far. Easily the best MoBo I've ever had.

Cons: You have to hook it up?

Other Thoughts: Make sure to use the OC features. It's easily done, and should be understood by even the most amateur of OC-ers.

5 out of 5 eggsvery nice but... do you need it?

Pros: If you want to impress your friends with one of the best MOB on the market, this is it. You wont have to change it for a long time... Very stable with mem at 1600 mghz. Can fit in a not so hight cost case. Cool and nice... And SATA 3, ext sata and power, 2 RJ45 port, USB 3, can recharge your iphone even when the computer is off.

Cons: First MOB was defect. Thanks to New Egg for the RMA. *** The Hybrid Silent Pipe module is not easy to install. One of the screw is to close to the cpu fan.*** Install it before the CPU cooler. If you dont want a big monster case, dont buy this MOB. And if you dont need extra performance with 2 or 3 Video card, dont buy it. But there are some crazy body like me who dont care...

Other Thoughts: Phenom II X4 965 B. Edition 3.4GHz at 3.7 ghz with V8 coolmaster fan(very good), G.SKILL Ripjaws 4GB DDR3 1600, Thermaltake Xaser VI case (very big...), and a HD5850OC from gigabyte. Next step, a 6 core faster than 3.4 with more cache than 8 mg and a second video card.

4 out of 5 eggsXL-ATX does not equal Extended ATX

Pros: Beautiful board.

Cons: I give the board a 4-egg rating because Newegg is not clear enough on the XL-ATX issue surrounding this board design.

Cases which support the XL-ATX format are limited at this point in time. E-ATX is not the same as XL-ATX. This Gigabyte board has a regular ATX nine-point mount pattern but the board is physically larger than a regular ATX board.

Other Thoughts: For those that own the beautiful Cooler Master ATCS 840 case, if you want to use this board be prepared to do some customizing to the motherboard tray that pulls out.

For example:

(1) Bottom crossbrace needs to be removed

(2) Standoff height needs to be increased about .15 inches so that the bottom of the m/b doesn't rub on the bottom rail when you slide tray back into the case.

(3) Cards which plug into the PCI slots will be a little difficult to position since the rear clearance will lose about .15 inches due to the increased standoff requirement. You will also have to place a .15 inch spacer under each PCI card(s) screw mount when you tighten it/them down.

5 out of 5 eggsdoes fit in Lian-Li Pc 80

Pros: Many PCI 2.0 slots for todays latest and greatest graphics cards. 6x SATA 6Gb/second,Has 2-USB 3.0 slots.Large with a lot enthusiest features. You will need a case with at least 9 expansion slots.

Cons: The only con is not even really a con but if you bought this motherboard thinking it will fit in your standard ATX case, well you were wrong. Its ok though. There are cases that are $125 or close to it that will hold this. The Thermaltake Xaser series has 3 cases

Other Thoughts: Yes,the Lian-Li PC-80 armorsuit will hold this mobo.I have the UD9 in mine and that is 13.58X10.31.S yes it will fit-this mobo is 12.8X 9.6.Other cases that will hold this are; 1. Cooler Master HAF-X; 2. Thermaltake Xaser series(3 different cases)these are under $200.There is one of them that is about $125.00.There are more expensive ones but there are some there.
