2 out of 5 eggsunamused

Pros: Great features

Cons: Just died after 1 year and a half of service

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte left a bad taste in my mouth with this motherboard.

Within the 1st year, one DIMM goes bad, who knows it may be good.
Weird issues with wireless PCI cards. I can set up another computer in a different enclosure, and place it in the same exact spot, and get full bars, with this motherboard and supporting items, I got two or less.

Wireless card finaly gave out, reads another one fine, the original card reads in another computer. During this troubleshooting process, and after three weeks not wanting to touch the thing. It could not get past POST, I had to pull the cmos battery out, then pop it back in just so it could get past POST.

Great motherboard GIGABYTE... My EPOX mobo after 5+ years is still holding up strong.. And they don't even make mobos anymore..

4 out of 5 eggsUpdated review of "Bad board" dated 6/26/10

Pros: This motherboard "NOW" does what I need it to do, It works, no more blue screen O Death! : ) Gigabyte fixed the problem so far - about 6 weeks now- not a single problem.

Cons: Gigabyte said it was a bio's issue? Before I sent it back to them, I tryed to update the bio's to no avail and took it to the "pro's" they said it had a bad board? Gigabyte had my board for a week and it took a week to ship it back to me, but it works.

Other Thoughts: Gigabyte honored there warranty. But having a piece of equipment fail is frustrating and can leave a bad taste in ones mouth. Will I buy Gigabyte again? I don't know. But fair is fair they fixed the problem and I felt that a update to my first review was only fair.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat MB for cheap

Pros: Like it all.

Cons: Documentation looses some in translation

Other Thoughts: Phenom 9850 B/E
4 GB 1066 RAM
9800GT Video
W7 64bit/Linux Mint 64bit (Dual boot)

BIOS Makes mention of DDR3 settings but nothing from Gigabyte says it will run it, sure would be great if it would.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value, Very Functional Motherboard

Pros: Easy to install
Cards don't have to squeeze
Plenty of expansion ports and SATA slots
RAM slots don't fit odd and won't push out when installing sticks
Still strong after owning for over a year

Cons: The optical input's cover fell off very fast and is serviceable, but really makes no difference if you leave a cable in at all times

The BIOS had corrupted a couple times, with random characters showing and not booting into anything, but this was fixed by reinstalling a clean BIOS from the Gigabyte website to a thumb drive.

Other Thoughts: I wish there weren't so many PCI-e slots, I have a hard time finding useful cards that need them, and i would have gladly traded a couple for a 2.0

5 out of 5 eggsGigabyte didn't bite the dust!

Pros: As I said earlier, nice layout; have used this brand of board in the past with no problems. Lots of connectors (SATA & USB). Had firewire, which I need and is not seen on too many other boards these days.

Cons: Right now, absolutely none! Board, after an RMA on the first one is up and running.

Other Thoughts: My first board arrived very quickly. It didn't take long for me to install it with the basic components to get it going. But after several hours of wrestling with removing and replacing video and ram the thing just wouldn't POST (no sound, black screen, but every fan spinning). The CPU was less than one year old, so as a last result I finally called NewEgg for an RMA. Polite customer service rep who asked few questions, and immediatedly issued an RMA after I said "no POST, despite the (obvious) troubleshooting , no other questions asked! New board arrived 5 days later (including Saturday and Sunday).
Little did I know that my CPU was dead (last thing I would've thought). Finally did the finger on the unfanned cpu for a few seconds after turning on the machine, and she was as cold as ice). Sorry NewEgg! I've returned what was probably a good board!
Again, this is the reason I keep coming back. Good products (usually!) and great customer service. Thank You New Egg.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice Motherboard

Pros: Everything.

Cons: Wish it had 2 Pci-e, a little heat problems but nothing major.

Other Thoughts: Got this after I got DOA MSI.

3 out of 5 eggsNot very good

Pros: Cheap ,but other than that..nothing else imo.

Cons: Quality build is not that good...that north bridge cooler is a bit lose. I would say 40% of the times i power up the pc ,i have to restart again because it fails to load.
Alltough its a budget board i lost arround 10%-25% perfomance to an older board. The 770 chipset is the same as the 790X but whitout the crossfire support wich was the one that my Asus (whit sb600) had before it died.
Overall iam disapointed at gigabyte, didn´t like this board ,but now i have to stick whit it =)

1 out of 5 eggsGigabytes the dust.

Pros: Nice layout, lots of inputs. Size of board easy to install in case. Have used Gigabyte boards in the past for building friends' machines with no problems. Could only give 1 egg due to the cons comment below.

Cons: No POST beep after installation and several troubleshooting techniques board produced no POST beep at all. Must have been DOA!

Other Thoughts: Called NewEgg for an RMA for replacement within 1 hour after attempting to install. Am waiting for a new board and will comment further when this one is installed and working. New Egg's customer service is A-1. No probing questions asked, just a quick RMA sent via email almost immediately after speaking with the rep. This is why I keep shopping with NewEgg for my computer parts! You won't find better service.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent board!

Pros: Works great for a budget build! I was wanting to put together a fast computer with little money and this was the motherboard I needed. It runs nearly 24/7 and has been for over a year now, downloading, acting as a home server and file server.

Cons: None!
