Burn tested the mobo for more than 48 hours and works like a charm. I should note that the mobo ships with the new EasyTune ...

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT MOTHERBOARD

Pros: Very easy to work with. The styling is great, got to love that big GIGABYTE heatsink in the north bridge. NOt planning on goin crossfire, so the single PCIe does the work. Great windows 7 support (still updating drivers), dont know why people complain about the RAM, Ive put a weird chinesse brand DDR2 800 4Gb (2x2Gb) in slot 1 & 3 and runs smooth. Raid controller works like a charm. Absolutely no complaints.

Cons: Not really a motherboard con, but DDR2 800 is starting to get expensive. so in a few years this motherboard will be really expensive due to the ram being rare.

Other Thoughts: Nobody talks about a great onboard feature that this motherboard has, and it is the spdif in. Great for building a home theater PC.

- 4Gb DDR2 800Mhz

4 out of 5 eggsRocks& Clocks

Pros: Board booted right up no prob. Looks real cool in my windowed case. Slapped in E-6700 with Masscool cooler,Posted fine, changed FSB from 266 to 333 and BAM,3.3 GHZ! Fans went crazy, so just running it at 266 for now ( save a little power!), Will figure out fan prob later. JUST REMEMBER PEOPLE,you need 1.8 volt RAM to post, then once into Bios you can up the volts.

Cons: Don't even think about getting your rebate! For this reason lost an egg & I will look at outer boards first on future builds!
Hey Gigabyte..How many customers do you think you lost with the rebate runaround? ! You are 4-5th in line now for me & I have been building for myself & others since Windows 3.1 !

Other Thoughts: E-6700 (OCd to 3.3 fine) Mushkin 4-4-4-12 Model # 996576 says it's 2.1 volt on stick, said 1.8 volt on Newegg,Posted & ran at rated settings at 1.8 so why up the volts right?(When I did 2.0 drove to 1066 at 5-5-5-15 no prob! love Mushkin, made in Co. !) XFX 9800 gt, 500 Watt PSU. Samsung spinpoint 500 Gb HD. Win XP Pro
Getting 2x2 Gb Mushkin Blackline in soon #996580 & putting on Win 7 32 as soon as it comes in, will go to 64 later ! Will keep ya posted!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Board - Every Time

Pros: Highly adjustable BIOS. Heatpipe cooling for northbridge and VRM. Intel ICH10R chipset. Easy access SATA connectors. The Intel ICH10R works very well with two RAID1 volumes (4 disks), Server 2003, and E8400 processor.

Cons: ATX12v 8-pin connector at far North-West board corner. This is a long reach for cables when using the Antec P193 or similar case with the bottom mounted power supply. This is a nit, and not a major problem.

The F6 BIOS caused a DMI pool validation hang with a Sony USB floppy drive. Updating to the current F12 BIOS cured this. This is also a non-problem, as the current BIOS should always be used.

Other Thoughts: I build business machines and do not overclock. The adjustable BIOS allows me to run DDR2-800 at JEDEC 1.8v standards even when the chip SPD wants to over clock. I've had six (6) sets of Corsair Dominator 8500C5D fail on different UD3R boards at JEDEC standard settings. Use the G.Skill instead, as the Dominator line is completely unreliable.

5 out of 5 eggsStands the test of time

Pros: Well laid out board, easy to install, great manual, everything you could want/need is built right onto the board. BIOS has every option I would ever use, and plenty more on top of that.

Cons: Driver CD installation was clunky on Windows XP, and had a tendency to lock up for periods of 5-20 seconds before continuing.

Other Thoughts: I bought this board about a year and a half ago. At the time, most Core 2 Duo Motherboards being sold here only had 2-3 Eggs, but this board had 5 Eggs, with over 100 reviews. After reading the best and worst reviews, I decided to get this board for my gaming box. Boy am I glad I did. I have nothing but good things to say about the board itself, and the manual. The driver CD gave me some inconveniences during Drive installation, but other than that, I have zero complaints.

5 out of 5 eggsNo complaints

Pros: Everything works. Two eSATA ports are nice, lets you use an external HDD or DVD drive externally with supplied cables.
Cosmetically, this board gets an A+! even though that doesn't count for much haha
Plenty of PCI slots allow for a lot of expansion.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I hope i never have problems with this board in the future.

1 out of 5 eggsNew=DoA, RMA=DoA

Pros: No pros - haven't gotten one to work yet.

Cons: First one was DoA. RMA - appears to be the same. It definitely has issues with the memory in, but gives a beep code for power issues with memory in. When the memory is out, the beep code indicates a problem with the video card. All of it has been tested and works on an old mobo.

Other Thoughts: 3rd of 3 motherboards from Newegg that have not worked properly. I'll stick with buying simpler components from them as the failure rates are too high.

2 out of 5 eggsBelieve the bad reviews

Pros: Good for easy overclocking. Had my E8400 consistently at 3.6 GHz. Was able to have a functional hackintosh while the board fired up. (See cons.)

Cons: Board died after just over a year. Left the computer on 24x7 unless restarting for update purposes...then one day, found it in a constant restart loop. After swapping common parts (cpu, video card, ram), diagnosis only leads back to the mobo.

I suppose I might be able to RMA it to Gigabyte...but it might be easier to cut my losses and buy a new mobo from a different mfg.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Board Horrible Sound Card

Pros: Over the last year I've used the board in a variety of configurations. Currently I have a RAID0 set up with two 64 ssd's and two additional 500 platter drives. The

Cons: The biggest flaw on this board is the Realtek sound interface. It straight out sucks. It constantly requires that I reinstall the drivers to make it work. The front panel stereo jack will inexplicably stop working or, if I plug in my USB condenser microphone, the back panel stereo jack stops working. I've wrestled with it 100 times. It SUCKS and, for certain home builds, makes this board NOT worth it. YMMV.

Other Thoughts: I'd give the board itself a 4 out of 5 but the sound issues I've had are a nightmare.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: A good board layout, excellent overclocking (486Mhz FSB with a *quad* core), good BIOS options and layout.

Cons: The northbridge heatsink may interfere with some large aftermarket heatsinks. I had to bend one of the fins to latch the Sunbeamtech CCC in place.

Other Thoughts: The price has actually increased since I bought this board in Jan 09... but it's still a good deal.

2 out of 5 eggsMemory Issues

Pros: Works with 667 memory

Cons: Can't find anything over DDR2/667 to run on this board. My guess is that Gigabyte is not concerned with releasing a compatible/updated BIOS. They referred me to either outdated or over priced modules available at whogivesahoot DOT com or something.

Other Thoughts: What works for others may not work for you. Look for this board on ALL the memory reviews you consider and you'll notice an equal trend of compatible vs incompatible memory. This isn't rocket science. We should all be able to install system specified memory, regardless of brand.

The board had several options for OC, but until you're ready to put up with return shipping to here and there or adjust settings for days or weeks...I'd pass on Gigabyte. I gave them 2 eggs because of the time and money spent (spending now) tracking down just the right memory.
