The Verbatim 94836 is a single 4.7GB DVD-RW disc supporting recording speeds up to 4X, suited to users who want to record or rewrite DVD-quality home movies and video clips on compatible drives.
Recommended For
- Home-video creators using a DVD-RW-compatible recorder who want to record and replace up to about two hours of standard DVD-quality footage on the same disc.
- People testing or revising DVD burns who need reusable 4.7GB media instead of discarding a write-once DVD after each attempt.
- Users with a DVD-RW-capable computer drive or recorder who want to cycle small files or temporary backups through a rewritable disc.
- People transferring or playing recorded DVDs within a known setup where the writer supports DVD-RW and the intended DVD-ROM drive or player is confirmed compatible.
Real-World Use Scenarios
- When you want to record a short home video for viewing on a DVD player, burn it to the disc with a compatible DVD writer or recorder; playback on another device may depend on its support for DVD-RW and the recording format.
- When you need to test a small data backup or move a few gigabytes between older computers, use the disc with DVD-RW-capable drives; you can erase and reuse it instead of consuming a write-once disc, but it is not a substitute for a separate backup.
- When trying a Linux installer or other bootable image on an older computer, burn it to the disc and reuse it for another image later; this is practical only if the computer can boot from DVD and the writer supports DVD-RW.
- When capturing or transferring footage with a DVD camcorder or recorder, record onto the disc and review it on compatible equipment; users report that finalizing the recording can matter for playback in a computer or another DVD player.
- When you need a temporary copy of files or video that may change, use the disc as reusable optical media; because rewritable discs can wear or become unreadable, keep important or long-term copies elsewhere too.
