Pros: Good price, working just fine and no problems so far. I would recommend it if your thinking of getting one.

Cons: None

Overall Review: Short USB cord but I'm sure it was designed that way because it being "portable" you wouldn't want to drag around a lot of cord with you.

Good and fast 12/28/2008 12:49:19 PM

Pros: It runs much faster than any of my other drivers. If I click on a larger folder and want to know the size, it displays the information much faster than any of my other drives ( Maxtor, WD or my Seagate)

Cons: More than 2 months running and so far no problems.

Overall Review: I like it so much that I will buy 320GB drive. And the 250 drive gives you only 230GB usable.
It comes with a "double" USB cable: I guess you are supposed to use both ends but I only used the main (or thicker) cable and it has worked fine and fast for me.

On the Fence 11/7/2008 6:32:39 PM

Pros: Small, USB powered, Love the drives BUT......

Cons: Bought three of these. One went out in less than a month. Messed around and went one day over neweggs 30 day policy and shipping off to transcend.

Overall Review: Other two are still kickin... cross your fingers. I hate to make people not want to buy this drive cause its really nice. Very disappointed i'm having this trouble with one of them.

Ruggedized Portable Storage 10/20/2008 2:39:01 PM

Pros: It does exactly what I purchased it for: a [somewhat] ruggedized portable device for backups and file transfers that fits in a coat pocket; 250GB in a coat pocket is impressive. I also love the fact that it is actually certified to meet military drop-test standards.

Cons: I would have preferred a _more_ ruggedized enclosure with a rigid inflexible inner shell so that it could better survive the brutal abuses of being lugged around inside my backpack (where it could easily get crushed); as is, the hard inner shell [under the silicone outer shell] is more flexible than I am comfortable with. I can see how the flexibility of the inner shell's material may actually make it absorb impact better and thus make it more drop-proof, but it certainly does not make it crush-proof on its two large flat surfaces. (Perhaps expecting drop-proof, crush-proof, capacity, and affordability in one small device is [currently] unrealistic.)

Overall Review: An additional rigid inflexible (aluminum?) clam-shell case (with foam padding) to transport the StoreJet itself in would be a nice option.

The high-contrast orange detailing bothers me (I would have preferred all black), but that is admittedly very subjective because color in no way reduces the performance of this impressive device.

I like this Drive 10/2/2008 4:14:05 PM

Pros: This drive seems good. It was easily recognized by my PC and was ready to use as soon as I plugged it in. The Y-adapter on the USB cable, although a bit bulky seems like a good thing for PC's with not enough power to run the drive. I only had to use one USB port. It does seem very durable as stated in the description but only time will tell. It's also very quiet. Only a little vibration which isn't noticeable due to the rubberized case. So far all my data is intact and reads without an error.

Cons: The included software (which isn't needed to use the drive) works well but will only synchronize to a folder it creates on the drive. (ie: M:\Personal Data\my folders\YOUR FILES) instead of the root directory (ie: M:\YOUR FILES). No big deal but a little annoying.

Overall Review: I would recommend this drive.
