High performance drive upgrade for desktop computers - 7,200 RPM speed with 64MB data buffer deliver improved performance for your aging computers. - Supports SATA 3.0 interface with up to 6 Gbit/sec transfer rate. - Wide capacity range up to 3TB for your storage needs.
Native Command Queuing (NCQ) support - Optimizes the order in which received read and write commands are executed, resulting in increased performance and reduced mechanical workload from the drive.
Data Protection Technology - Ramp loading technology reduces wear to the recording head and media for improved drive reliability. Built-in shock sensors detect impact, shielding adjacent track data.
Cheap, and you get what you pay for.12/31/2017 1:13:06 AM
Pros: Very cheap when I got em
Cons: A bit over a year later, both drives are on their way out - With 133 days of use, and 42 power cycles each, drive 1 is showing a bad sector and a handful of failing sectors, while drive 2 is showing a large number of failing sectors.
With a 2 year warranty I shouldn't be surprised - It's rather obvious that Toshiba doesn't have much faith in the longevity of these drives. Even worse is that the drives haven't even hit a year of use - Both of em are starting to fail before even hitting a quarter of their expected lifespan.
Cons: Got 2 of these 3TB drives 6 months ago and 1 is starting to fail with a seek error rate problem. The bad drive lightly clicks most of the time and is used only for data storage or install programs, driver install packages and such.
Overall Review: Toshiba's RMA process not the best out there.

Great Drive!8/11/2016 8:35:47 PM
Pros: A fast, quiet, reasonably priced hard drive that appears to be of very good quality, with plenty of bang for the buck.
Cons: None so far. I'll update this review if I come across any.
Overall Review: Hands down the best hard drive I’ve ever owned in this price range. It outperforms every other spindle/platter type hard drive I own, regardless of price and/or quality. I own several other much pricier top of the line Western Digital RE Gold series hard drives, and absolutely love them. However, this Toshiba drive not only outperforms all of them in every category of Crystal Disk Mark, it spins up faster and is noticeably quieter. Don’t get me wrong, I like Western Digital very much, and will continue to use their products, but if you’re looking for a drive that has high-end performance at a modest price, you can’t beat this drive. Toshiba excels in everything they endeavor to produce or be involved in. IMO, you can rarely, if ever, go wrong with a Toshiba product.
Follow-up: I become more impressed with this drive with every passing day. One of the things that really continues to impresses me (and apparently a lot of other people too) is how quiet this drive is. Most of the time, I can't even hear it during spin-up or heavy operation. Fast, quiet, and reasonably priced... I couldn't ask for more!
Overall Review: So I've installed around 60 of these over the last year and not one has been bad. These are going in professional high end workstations as bulk storage in RAID-5 arrays no less, so they're taking a pretty good beating. I run every one through seatools long drive test before installing and to date not one has failed the test. I RMA'd one of them simply because it was making a tiny tiny odd noise I hadn't heard in any others so I RMA'd for the heck of it.
As far as 7200 RPM desktop drives go this performs very well. Over 200MB/s read and write at the outside of the platter. Seagate desktop drives are the only ones I've seen that are faster (in the consumer/desktop HDD space).
Over a year putting these in the wild and thus far they've been great to me. Have also done some builds with 3TB P300s; also solid.
Best guess is as usual the people who are getting bad drives are the ones writing reviews. I can very confidently say I trust this drive and given the huge amount of them I've put out there without issue they are of good quality. That said, its still and HDD. I don't care if you're buying enterprise HDDs and using RAID-6, BACK UP YOUR DATA.
