ImagePerfect firmware is designed to ensure seamless video footage capture in 24x7 surveillance workloads that record video from 64 HD cameras.
SkyHawk Health Management actively helps protect your surveillance storage by focusing on prevention, intervention, and recovery options. RAID RapidRebuild is the latest feature, which provides 3x faster volume rebuilds over traditional RAID rebuilds.
RV sensors built in allow drives to maintain performance in multi-bay systems, giving customers the flexibility to scale their systems when more storage is needed.
ATA streaming support enables recordings from up to 64 HD cameras for smooth, uninterrupted footage.
Up to 14TB or over 9345 hours of HD video storage support an increased number of HD cameras and allows longer data retention periods.
1M hours MTBF represents an improved total cost of ownership (TCO) with reduced maintenance costs.
Lower power consumption means a reduction in heat emissions, which improves reliability in surveillance solutions. Tarnish-resistant components help protect drive from environmental elements, increasing field reliability.
One disk is damage, very damage!9/11/2021 12:24:02 AM
Cons: I bought 4 disk online and one disk is damage, I can not initialize it, and it makes weird sound like a loose wheel is inside.
Overall Review: I thought that my new pc does a funny sound when it starts. But, today when I tried that last disk ST6000VX001 in another computer, the disk that doesn't want to be initialized, and I realized that the funny sounds comes from it. Help, I need a replacement soon, and I am in Venezuela, please tell me you have a way to help me to resolve this.
Manufacturer Response:
Hello anamillanv,
Thank you for your feedback on our Seagate Skyhawk ST6000VX001 6 TB 3.5" Internal Hard Drive. We regret to hear that there is an issue in initializing the drive and noises from the drive. We strive to deliver the best possible experience with our drives. Therefore, we are continuously working on making them better. The drive model is EOL(end of life) and we are not manufacturing it anymore.
Although drive noise may initially seem concerning, in some cases, it’s perfectly normal. For example, noise can occur when data is being read or written to the drive. You may hear a “soft” click or “chattering” noise as a result of this. Noise may also occur when the drive is spinning up. Other times, noise can result as a product of the environment. In other words, sometimes the noise may not come from the drive. Work environments may produce noise. Mounts can become loose, fans can be noisy, or perhaps other factors. You can review this article outlining drive noise to offer some context to the noise:

Please refer to the KBA related to formatting/initializing the drive:

WARNING! Formatting erases all data on the drive. Be sure to make a copy of any data you might need later.
Please create a case with our technical support team so we can further investigate and explore available solutions:
