Correct Connection
For Windows
Connect the USB 3.0/USB C port to the laptop; if the computer recognizes the CD drive, you will be able to see the "DVD RW Drive" icon in "My Computer" on your computer.
For Mac
Your Mac computer won't display the device icon until the disc is placed in the CD drive and read correctly.
The External CD and DVD drives are compatible with many system devices:
Windows: Windows XP/2003/Vista/7/8.1/10/11, Linux
Mac OS: All Mac OS System Versions (8.6 to 10.14) Laptop, Notebook, PC, Desktop
Not compatible with: cars, TV, tablets, smartphones, projectors, Xbox, Chrombook, iPad, phones, Surface
Not supported: Blu-ray disc, m1 chip, and m2 chip
Region Code Settings:
Windows : This PC - DVD Drive - Properties - Hardware Tab - Properties Button - Choose Region
Mac: Menu-System Preference-Language & Region - Region - Select Country - Apply
Note: Remember that you can only reset the country 5 times.
Warm Tips
If the computer can't recognize the driver or can't play the CD properly
External cd player should be plugged into the laptop's USB port instead of connecting to the USB HUB. Also, plug the item with the USB port behind the computer host if you are using a desktop computer.
Make sure the CD is securely seated and not scratched.
Make sure there is a handy driver software built in. Or try it with another computer.
When you set the area code according to different regions, you must set the same region code to play region DVD discs.
Better to use the external power adapter to increase the power if your devices don't have enough power to support the external dvd drive. (The micropower cable in the package)
Make sure your computer has a driver before using the external cd dvd burner (VLC Media Player or other playback software).
