Pros: Excellent sound quality, with even distributing of bass flow. Sounds clean, and smooth. Gets ALL sounds across, I know with regular stereo speakers it would drown out double bass in some songs I'd listen to, but it's very clear. The control center knob is very easy to use, and with front inputs for microphone and headphones it makes it easier, vs unplugging and re-plugging in to front or back of the PC each time. The speakers are very smooth and professional looking.
Cons: I was going to mention something about the individual speakers, and levels. I use a software that adjusts this, but much to my excitement, the control center that comes with this has that feature as well. You're allowed to adjust, bass, center, and surround sound, along with master volume. No Cons.
Overall Review: You should 100% use the button that switches from gaming, to music or none. The music setting distributes the bass evenly, making the music sound great. The gaming setting, is great for gaming, and that awesome 3d sound, minimal bass, slightly louder, and great for shoots or any other games. With none of these settings on, I like to call it my movie setting. It has more bass power, because most movies aren't blazing with bass. It has amazing sound quality with this setting. However, if you weer to listen to music with anything, but the music button clicked on, then it will sound either over bassy, or under bassy. Definitely listen to music with the music LED on, and play games with the gaming LED on. This things knows best for sure. IF you're not doing either of those, click the button, to return to a normal setting, which is great for movies like I said.
Pros: These speakers bring my audio quality to all time highs. The Control Pad makes controlling all the separate volumes from the master to subwoofer, surround, and center easy and efficient. The matrix modes work phenomenally. The Gaming Matrix turns all the sound I hear into crystal clear surround sound and the Music mode I never really use because Music actually sounds better to me on Gaming mode. Mounting these satellites on walls is a breeze and is a matter of unscrewing one screw then turning the bottom around 360 degrees, then screwing it tightly. The center channel doesn't fall off your monitor like my previous experiences taught me it might. My monitor is kind off irregularly flat as it will be flat in the back then lumps all of a sudden, but the center channel still is secure and will not fall unless someone smacks it. With the proper sound card for the green, black and orange jacks, you will get perfect sound.
Cons: I've had these speakers for a few days and if anything obvious was going to go wrong, it would have happened the first time these were turned on. I know these are good speakers, because I'm forcing myself to think of cons right now and am having the utmost trouble coming to one. There are no cons.
Overall Review: Doesn't come with some extra stuff, which I don't think justifies as a con because extra stuff isn't necessary. But the thing is, is that I wanted to wire the rear channel cables through the wall up and then across the ceiling, back down and then make them come out and plug into the subwoofer. This obviously takes alot of wire, and don't get me wrong, the rear channel satellites both have cables that look me at least 3 times longer than the front and center channels, but it still wasn't enough for what I had in mind. I fixed this easily by buying the extensions myself, but just so that people get an idea of what it kind of takes to make rear channels look nice on the wall if you haven't thought of this already. BUY THESE SPEAKERS. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.
Pros: Great sounding system...good wired length...versitile pod contol is a major plus (got tired of reaching under desk to access controls...center channel speaker seats well on monitor...non skid is a plus...
Cons: The sound Matrix kind of distorts things... a little EQ tweaking resolved this easily...but so far so good.
Overall Review: Lighting fast delivery...I've purchased a lot from Newegg and this was a dream...still stunned
Pros: Big, clear sounding bang for your buck. I went out to many stores in person to compare in person and there was nothing in 5.1 that even came close to the full bodied sound this delivers. Just wait till you watch a movie with good special effects...GNARLY!
Cons: None
Overall Review: EVGA 790i MB, Q9450 OC @ 3.74 GHz, Adaptec 29320LPE PCI Express SCSI Controller Card, Seagate SCSI Cheetah 15K Hard Drives, Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1 TB x 2, Samsung Supper Wright master DVD burner, EVGA 9600GT x 2 running SLI, Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional Series, CORSAIR XMS3 DHX 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800), XP Pro SP2.
Pros: I needed this for three things: skype chats (business), music and occasional gaming. The console takes up a minimal amount of space on my desk, and the controls on it are fairly easy and satisfy my main concern: no moving contacts. The main reason I retired my previous old JVC box (from the 80s) was its losing contact on the front & rear speaker switches. This is maybe too much for what I use it for - even at just 2 LEDs it's just as loud as I'll ever need it. I have neighbors, and the house isn't that firm... I wouldn't run it as loud as it surely can go. I'm just satisfied that everything sounds alright - haven't caught it in any artifact, nothing sounds like coming out of a coffin or a tin can.
Cons: Matrix modes are a bit of an overkill, and I think my sound card has better tricks up its sleeve. The headphones should have a switch to flip between them and speakers - maybe reassign the mute switch to that when phones are present. The green plug is the only wearable part that gets used every day; I'd much rather not have to plug it in and out two or three times a day. And one detail, about the short cables: what I didn't understand from other reviews was that the front line cables are short - and they are, a foot or two more would cover just as much as needed. Doesn't make much sense to buy extensions for that. The rear are just as long as needed.
Overall Review: Actually my daughter has the more serious Z-640 or whatever was the legend that you can't buy anymore. This one is toned down from that exactly as much as I need it.
Pros: These are by far the best speakers I have heard in a while. They rival anything any of my friends have including console gaming speakers. For the money, these are the best deal. They get very loud and put out excellent bass. I went outside my apartment and the hallways and could hear clearly what song was playing. Easy setup, crystal clear instructions, and can even customize their appearance by inserting printed designs on the side of the speakers.
Cons: The rear speaker cords could be longer, but can easily pick up extenders for about $5. ...and they can't grill my steaks.
Overall Review: They are loud, sound clear, put out excellent bass....what more do you want?? BUY THEM
Pros: best sound i have ever had! my first 5.1 system, louder than anything i've heard before. don't let them tell you it's not loud!
Cons: at loudest volume, it sounds like my satellites are trying to push bass too, not very noticeable unless i'm doing bass tests though
Overall Review: the sub woofer is very loud and deep, i wasn't expecting this good of a sub with this system. wel worth the money

Pros: Well, I bought these with my x-fi platinum fatal1ty, moving from 2.1 to 5.1 finally. I upgraded from a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 to these, and the sound was pretty decent. being 5.1, games did come alive, noticing sounds I never noticed with my old setup.
Cons: My first con with these, was the front channel speaker wire length was absolutely too short. It may work for others, but for me, I was limited in my placement because of this. Note, this may not be a con for others, just my desk is fairly wide and I would have liked to spread out my sound a bit more from where I wanted my subwoofer, instead of having to move it under the middle of my desk from the side where it sounds better. My second con with this system, is the subwoofer itself. Compared to my 5 year old Klipsch, this one hasnt come close to the power I got from my old subwoofer, at certain parts of the room where the old sub would wound the most powerful, it was painful to listen to (lots of bass) this one hasnt impressed me with the music, or games. My last con with this system, is the overall volume, my old 2.1 system would get ear-splittingly loud without problem. I would leave it that loud at times, and to go other parts of the house and be able to hear my music loudly.
Overall Review: But overall, it really is a decent system, quality is better at least than my old system, but I am more of a power man. The matrix thing is pretty cool, but I usually leave it off, as it makes the system not true 5.1. I guess it is only really useful for turning 2.0 into 5.1 sounding. Doing that without the sound card is pretty nice and a great feature to have for people without good hardware, or even if they want to connect these to a TV or something, also the reason why this is a 4 and not a 3.
