The LG GP65NB60 is a slim, USB-connected external CD/DVD burner for people who need to read or write discs on a computer without a built-in optical drive. It supports up to 8x DVD±R and 24x CD writing, plus M-DISC media; it is for CD/DVD use, not Blu-ray.
Recommended For
- Laptop users who occasionally need to read or burn CDs and DVDs—such as opening archived files, installing disc-based software, or making a DVD—without keeping a built-in optical drive.
- People making occasional long-term data copies who specifically want to burn M-DISC DVDs; LG lists M-DISC support, which is useful when paired with compatible M-DISC media and software.
- Traveling or desk-space-conscious users who want a slim, USB-connected CD/DVD drive to carry with a laptop instead of a larger drive with a separate power adapter.
- Users of older PCs or Macs who need an external drive for existing CD/DVD collections, including reading data discs or watching DVDs on a computer with suitable playback software.
